Fortunately for other professions, there are plenty of profession specific bags to go around, but not when it comes to alchemy. I bought an herb bag in hopes of it being able to contain alchemy stuff too, but no. That’s not the case.
How can we still be missing an alchemy bag after 8!? expansions?
What exactly is the Alchemy bag supposed to hold? The herbs goes into the herb bag, and that counts for the most of the Alchemy mats. As for the consumables themselves, who needs a own bag only for holding stacks of elixirs, flasks and potions?
I can only see that as practical for Alchemists that also are collectors who likes to keep a stack of everything they have crafted during their leveling of the profession, and everything that still might be useful for lowlevel characters.
You dont need an alchemist bag. You can store the vials in the bank, and they will be drawn from there when you craft, even if you are not remotely near a bank.
Edit: Counts for all other crafting materials too.
Edit 2: And if you mean the consumables you make? Click in the icon above the bag and you choose it to be a consumables bag. All consumables will go there when you make it.
You can also set a bag to be trade goods.
