“Race is for roleplay and cosmetic reasons, there is no reason for not allowing all base classes for all races.”
Differences goes beyond the way a race looks. Its part of the roleplay.
Racism is also not actual differences between races, racism is prejudice based on race. So its not racism.
Wake up from your dream guys: You are looking pixelized pictures on your screen and thats a fantasy world. When you call out it as racism, it has nothing to do with it.
This pretty much. Don’t know why people push real life topics into the game. Classes being restricted to certain races is/was due to lore reasons and it helps give the game a medieval fantasy atmosphere.
In real life not everyone can be any profession either, based on nationality and your own limitations. For instance I can’t be a Papal Swiss Guard because I’m not Swiss.
“Racism is prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.”
And
“the belief that different races possess distinct characteristics, abilities, or qualities, especially so as to distinguish them as inferior or superior to one another.”
Neither of which has anything to do with denying you access to a certain class due to your race.
It is not racist against players of course, but against our wow characters - discriminates against a certain playable race by limiting its ability to be a certain class.
I have always been against this idea because the games has always had some logic behind race/class combinations. But now that you can play tauren rogues the restrictions should just be lifted as WoW has lost all common sense in that regard already.
