Yes, and with improved ilvls may I add (weekly Dreamsurge pieces are 428, farmable are 415).
Sadly, I was unable to transform my last S2 piece (a cloak) at the catalyst, thankfully I can live without it

Ah but you can get the dreamsurge/timerift gear, upgrade it to what level you want and catalyse that! HOWEVER! You canāt upgrade it afterwards.

So we can still get LFR/NM/HC look? That is great news! Even if itās wekly at least itās something.
Even mythic, I think! It will be along process but we can get there 
And I have noticed the catalyst is already prepped for current gear, so I am hoping next week we might be able to start. Especially since LFR is released at the same time.
Edit: Potentially fastest way to do this is to get the 415 gear with dreamdust that you can farm ad nauseum (if you can be bothered) and upgrade it to 428 for HC gear. It will be relatively cheap with flightstones if you already upgraded something to that level. This is what I am doing for the Paladin gear at least, I have will stop at 428 and then just get the weekly gear to 441.
Then Iāll need another set to get to 441 for Mythicā¦ so that will take longer but one thing at a time!

I played Pala and Priest this season since the mog was so lucrative and got full sets, but only managed to get LFR/Normal for everyone else pretty much.
Iām mainly after the HC mog due to the red/gold color scheme. And Iām glad I never bothered to throw away the dreamdust since I had gotten everything minus duped pets and was thinking Iād save it just for gold conversion.
But yeah, thanks for sharing! At least I got something to do now since I bought the 6 month sub way back when. And since farming rares is easy at least I can do something else in the meantime.
No. But your old currency is useless now if you had been saving it up.
You can get up to 450 ilvl from these things at the moment (after upgrading).
The researchers under fire event has not been upgraded; it still gives s2 gear. So that event is now useless except to get a few extra crests, I suppose.
I spent all my Crest (apart from a couple as I ran out of Flightstones).
I should have spent the Rift and Surge currencies on cosmetics or something but meh. I had 9 weeks worth of Surge currency so maybe 1200 - 1500 as I only really did the earn 100 for the quest but would have picked up a little more than the 100 if I killed a rare or something.
So itās not a massive amount to lose.
I had kind of assumed these were more cosmetic currencies than gearing currencies so I didnāt think theyād be reset.
Well, you can just do both those weeklies and get some nice gear.
Remember that youāll only need to pay crests once per upgrade level (per slot); if you get new gear in the future itāll only cost flightstones up to the level of your original gear. So itās an upfront investment, of sorts.
I also did the Fyrakk assault today and got an upgrade from that as well.

I got some Explorer gloves (not sure where, found them in my bags when clearing space) which were 421. I was able to upgrade them to 437 just with Flightstones and smallish amounts (like 65). I was surprised as my original gloves where s2 Champion 4/8 424.
So when they say up to the original level I think they mean that If I had s2 Champion 4/8 I might be able to go to s3 Champion 4/8 with only Flightstones.
But this is an assumption.
Yeah I am going to make a priest and get the gear finally, it is the best look I have seen in a while. I also love the new set for the Paladin as the LFR tint. Glad I could be of help 
Edit: ALARM friend just tried to use a 415 piece upgraded to heroic ilevel and catalyst it - didnāt give HC appearance. I have no idea why, it should work, but I think you do in fact need the 428 base gear, which means we will get appearances slowly

Oh? How? Was it from that big dragon because the chest only gave me suffused gear. Or are we talking about different things?
Yeah probably from the boss then. Because I did all of it (the reason I headed to the camp was because I saw it was spawning). I didnāt check my bags until I was done with all of it. So yeah, I guess it was a drop from the boss.
Yeah, Iām guessing old ilvl still applies, so <415 for LFR, 415-424 for Normal, 428-439 for HC and 441+ for Mythic.
