All interact / cursor icons washed out / much darker than normal

Long story short made some hardware upgrades and had a full reinstall of the game no wtf folder full fresh install and as of now all the color by majority on any interact right click is either washed out or extremely dark in comparison to what it was prior to the reinstall and new hardware installation.

I’ve seen a few posts mention this issue bug no actual fixes is there any news on that front. it doesn’t appear in screenshots which is strange it displays normally and i can view it normally too.

To clarify a bit further its more over all the icons on right click are much darker, i’ve tried changing themes and modifying the settings but it only seems to effect wow and i did all this after a clean reinstall with no WTF or any folder related.

The card i am using is an AMD rx 5700 XT just to clarify even more i’ve managed to fix one issue but the initial one being the cursor being significantly darker than normal remains.

Hey Grepgh,

Could you take a screenshot of what you see, and share that with us here?

Have a few seconds to spare? Let me know how I’m doing!

It’s strange any form of screenshot and even in game the colours remain the same, it tried a few different things but nothing seems to work currently.

Basically long story short i use the pet panel as an example certain pet icons are all correct and of the right colour the moment i drag them they get darker.

try reinstalling you graphics driver that fixed it for me. im not sure of the cause but a driver reinstall seems to fix it.

Tried that as well to no avail im pretty sure it’s related to how new the graphics card actually is my other graphics card doesn’t have this issue so.

Happened to me as well after Windows 10 Update, Reinstall/Update Graphic Drives fixed the problem.

your pixel format might be set at ycbcr while it should be full rgb.
while connected using a hdmi cable, my rx 580 automatically sets the wrong pixel format and the result is is that everything is dark…
open amd settings, then go to Display and change pixel format to " * RGB 4:4:4 Pixel Format PC Standard (Full RGB)"

Currently i can’t actually do that Bluut, there is literally no option for that in my AMD settings even tho it should be there

I can’t post a gyazo so that’s not exactly a great help but freesync is disabled so i’m unsure how i can actually change that if the option isn’t even there :stuck_out_tongue:

it’s only available if you’re using a hdmi cable, so your problem might not be pixel format related

Pretty sure after everything i’ve checked its due to monitor age as the biggest factor both my monitors are from early 2010’s / 2011 therefor the pixel format is actually the issue i tried with a different monitor being a 144hz 1080p with a direct hdmi to hdmi and it seems that actually fixed it same goes for displayport to display port just means i need to purchase new monitors it doesn’t display properly currently as both cables i’m using are DVI or VGA converters to HDMI and displayport.

For those that still may face issues with this. I was experiencing this today after messing around moving my setup. Turns out if you have Windows set at HDR it can mess with the settings as soon as i turned HDR off colours were back to normal.
