Hmm not sure, I thought it was explicitly mentioned as a cost reduction. However, it was mentioned in the same post as all the level changes, so you could very well be right.

They increased the focus cost of arcane shot and aimed shot, but even if they hadn’t, the nerfs to focus generation just make it impossible to weave them in on Trueshot like we do on live.

In Battle for Azeroth, Rapid Fire’s focus generation and the Master Marksman talent increase the amount of available Focus you have a by a decent amount, which almost pushes Steady Shot’s Focus generation away from being necessary at all. Now:

Aimed Shot Focus Cost increased to 35 (was 30).
Arcane Shot and Multi-Shot Focus cost increased to 20 (was 15).
Rapid Fire duration lowered to 2 seconds (was 3 seconds). Total damage dealt by Rapid Fire should be unchanged.

Very pretty, but it breaks trueshot. So, something has got to give.
It would be easy to fix by baselining the legendary effect on Trueshot (30% focus reduction) so it works and giving us another one.

Actually, i am not even sure if it will be enough. Needs testing, cause i am only on the PTR, not beta and i still have my essences and azerite traits giving me extra focus. That is gonna go away in SL, including the haste, so i can only imagine how bad it will feel.

You can pretty much just remove your neck/azerite gear/enough gear so you have 5-7% haste and that’s how level 60 feels

Well, yeah… the point is it will feel worse. I didn’t feel the need to test it cause it is bad enough with the azerite traits and essences.

these last changes feel horrible.
steady focus has huge bug in it. after using another ability the buff goes away.
lethal shot reduce the cooldown of rapid fire, which has been nerfed greatly and nobody liked it in the first place.
and dead eye feels awkward. specially during trueshot and factoring the increased focus cost of aimed shot. they should add some haste buff to trueshot to combat that. if not the lack of focus makes the talent and cooldown a lot weaker.

Yup, we have a huge focus problem. It’s especially pathetic during Trueshot and will lock us into a legendary choice just to make it work.
Whoever told blizz they had too much focus was trolling or didn’t know how to play MM.

But, i want to dispel the myth that no one likes rapid fire. I like it.

The legendary is just as bad as trueshot itself, even with the focus reduction it doesn’t solve the problem nor add much value at all.

why not add buff what increase damage if you dont attack. exampel if u dont attack for 5 sec ur next abilty deals 100% addunal damage …
this will meen if u cast a aimed shot or steady shot what takes like 1 sec to cast this buff will buff damage 20% while that 1 second … what if u fight a boss u have move aside from boss mecanic and there goes 3 second 60% damage buff on next abilty.

Make marksman feel like beeing a sniper slow focus generation meens higer damages …

Sniper shot has a 170 yd range if u go all in on mastery as marksman :rofl:
