All races + flying for free, this wednesday or when?

Heard for the longest time we don’t need to do 100 hours of questing + prep stuff to unlock all races, is it ever coming or not?
And the free flying too?
I got every class on horde + alliance so thats 25x 4k = 100k gold I’m about to save.

  • All restrictions for unlocking Allied Races have been removed, with the exception of a level requirement.
  • All Allied Races can now be unlocked once you have a level 40 character on your account (was level 50).
  • Newly created Allied Race characters will now be directed to Chromie (was the Warboard).
  • Characters now learn the appropriate mount riding skill upon reaching the appropriate level without needing to visit a mount trainer.
    • Level 10 - Apprentice Riding
    • Level 20 - Journeyman Riding
    • Level 30 - Expert Riding
    • Level 40 - Master Riding
  • Characters that reach level 30 will receive the quest “Time to Fly” and be awarded with a flying mount: the Harbor Gryphon for Alliance characters and Scarlet Pterrordax for Horde characters.

Well you won’t save it if you have already spent it but yes, no more paying for mount skills

I have a level 37 worgen in Draenor who hasn’t bought flying yet, will they get it now even though they aren’t “turning the appropriate level” as they are already about it…

Got maybe 33% at 60, 20, rest in between but could afford only 2 epic flying for my mains so far. So once they all hit 60 this will be a huge saving for me.

I hope the allied races introduction quests still remain.

I have only done Void Elf, Lightforged Draenai and the Dwarf one, but the introductions were important to learn about their lore!

I am presuming there is no re-requisite now and you just go straight to the unlock quest.

The update notes say all requirements for unlocking allied races have been removed except level 40 character. The introductory quest was a “requirement” so I assume you can create an Allied race character without the quest but I hope it will still be there for whoever wants to learn the story.

Finally the races can be created after the login screen without demands.

Why did they make flying speed free?
I have 410% speed on like over 40 characters.
That is a lot of gold I would like to have saved.

For those who wonders, I made those characters one for each spec + more for farming items in places that has a weekly lockdown.

I am curious when we will get the Allied race mounts - before it was on introductory quest completion, now probably on 1st login of the 1st character of the Allied race.

I think by requirements they meant the list of requirements you see when you go the embassy. And those weren’t realy requirements for the race, they were requirments to unlock the questline that unlocks the race. So I think you will still have to do those intro questlines to actually unlock them.

^^ This the requirements are meeting reputations, having done pre-requisite quests in order to access the quest for that race. At least that’s how I understood it.

I don’t think they are removing their introduction.

But like others have said we will see on Wednesday. I don’t PTR test so I can’t comment.

You were completely right! I am glad the introductory quests are still available (and required) because I haven’t completed some of them.
