I have absolutely nothing good to say about she. This patch with Locus Walker it was the same with Anduin in Ajh-Kahet campaign, she proved to bee so easy influenced by others without thinking if they have right or not.
After all the Locus Walker did for she and she just spit in face of her master telling him he is no better then Xalatath. You are so crap Alleria,i ussed to like you before but because of this i will not like you anymore.Locus walker died because of Alleria, she broke his heart as his student.May youre selfish hunt against Xalatath bring you an end.
It’s the same issue since the beginning. Saying Alleria is reckless is one thing, but she is simply acting in a dumb way too many times.
The obvious course of action would has been to try to setup something alongside Locus Walker to get rid of Xal’atath once Dimensius was gone, but no, of course, it is not what Alleria did.
no, and you know taht true- he died because he trusted Xalatah- who from the start make it clear she will betray us. Seriusly Many people covered their faces with their hands and shook their heads when the ending was spoiled because EVERYONE knew how it would end. EVERYONE knew it wouldn’t end well and everyone said the same thing: she will betray us, and that’s exactly what happened…
Because she also has a history of betraying her partners, deceiving them, and abandoning them at important moments.
And I would have expected a locus walker to have more understanding and foresight, to naturally anticipate this and have a plan for it—which was not the case.
Yes, he must have been really desperate, but he didn’t even think one or two steps ahead—especially with HER, knowing full well that she couldn’t be trusted.
Damn it, Alleria said it herself from the beginning that it wasn’t a good idea—he didn’t want to listen, and tbh, his own hubris was his downfall. Alleria warned him, but he didn’t want to believe it.
Furthermore, it could be said that if he had taken the dark heart with the imprisoned XalĂ tah and Dimensius, she would not have been freed again because she was probably planning it (as ex machina) or because the plot demands it.
neither di, not even locus walker (or we the palyer who knew this is gonna be a bad idead allying with her) , even it was clear xalatah will betray us, and we all let it happen (tbh- you can say because, well plot demand, but i spsucetd at least more forsight form locus walker, and he seemingly dint plan for a betryal)
Yeah, youre right Locus walker should have think on being one step ahead with Xalatath.
The fact that Xalatath betrayed Locus walker is not the first time,Xalatath also betrayed the Old Gods,Ansurek even Gallywix and she also betrayed us because Dimensius was not destroyed, just imprisoned.
Locking closely at the ending video ,clearly Locus Walker wanted to let go of the Dark Heart but the plot demanded he to dye,it was not how someone who bring us all this story about the Ethereals, the Shadowguards incursion on Argus ,Karesh the teaching of Alleria with the void and creating the Rendorei, when Xalatath assaulted Telogrus Rift it was the Locus Walker who tolld Xalatath to piss of,it was he who teach Alleria about Xalatath and how she can infiltrate in the mind.Locus Walker deserved more then to die at Xalatath hand and exploding.
I don’t even think he should be one step ahead honestly. He just needed to aknowledge they should prepare something. Or explicitly says that they are in a rush and cannot prepare at least.
Because it goes that way “It is Xal’atath, we have to work with her to win against Dimensius, even if obviously she is an enemy we cannot trust”. So everyone knows Xal’atath cannot be trusted and will turn against them and no one even do anything about it in the slightest. They are not even bothered by it. It just feels weird and depicts the characters as absolutely brainrotted.
I get what Blizzard tried to do, “they can’t because Xal’atath shattered the trust between Alleria and Locus”. But it’s not what actually happened. And it’s what prevents Xal’atath to be a really interesting character. She is not a masterful deceiver, it’s just that she is “tricking” dumbasses. Alleria starts her tantrum against Locus when the situation is crystal-clear about why he did what he did, and he can only say “Alleria, please” instead of the most obvious defense possible (it was this sacrifice or everyone, including Azeroth and your family in time). This whole conflict don’t work because it’s two childrens trying to have an argument with Xal’atath with an evil grin in the background.
As always, it’s just a matter of writting some dialogues better and you can salvage the whole thing.
Worse being that instead of doing, like, the BEES QUESTS, anything that acknowledged that Alleria or Locus, on their own side, where preparing something against Xal would have worked. Locus just saying to the PC “I’m planning on trying to turn the Dark Heart against Xal’atath in time, Alleria don’t trust me any longer, so it is a risky burden I alone must wield, and knows that it may very much fail.” and the characters are shifting from idiots to desesperates. It’s just this, but Blizzard is failing at that since a long time.
Not to mention that the player is, of course, once again the dumbass as well. It’s neither a compelling story, nor a compelling experience, so certainly not a good model for a story. If they wanted to double down on the “distrust kills” angle, they could have easily done that by having Alleria’s anti-Xal-plan ruin Locusts anti-Xal-plan which he didn’t share with her before, because Xal was listening. Not having anyone develop plans to deal with her is just another indefensible writing decision. If it was a decision and not an even less excusable oversight.
To me it feels like Blizzard is writing characters, especially the bad guys against the players, instead of making them work with motivation a sense of humor and a lot of intrigs. If Blizzard wants someone dead they are rewrithing him first from a smart guy to a stupid one then they can just kill him without any hesitation and some don’t even have the chance to oppose.
They could make like Alleria and Locus walker to talk in privat about this and setting the trap for Xalatath but they didn’t,they just wanted the Locus Walker dead, unfortunate story sometimes is just not enough envolved, they should give a chance to everyone.
What I hate most about Alleria is that she is being treated as “the Main Character” by the scenario and by Xal’atath simply because the scenarists chose her. Xal’atath could have killed her a dozen times but simply flees away like an evil cartoonish character each time, for no reason whatsoever.
What did Alleria actually accomplish this whole expansion? Absolutely nothing, except for that arrow shot that broke the Dark Heart because for some reason (incompetent writers) Xal’atath, who showed she could easily dodge her arrows, decided to get hit that time and act surprised.
And despite all of this, Alleria remains less boring that all the other characters because she is not a unilateral lawful-good cloned oyster.
And the worse being that Xal finds a way to repair it and reinforce it by the end of TWW, making the whole expansion circling back to it’s beginning with Alleria chasing Xal because she killed someone she liked and Xal having in her possession a powerful artifact that can bring void forces.
The expansion did just add a character arc for Alleria that falls flat and Dimensius as a threat who is introduce late and thrown away immediatly, so everything feels like it was just a filler waiting for Midnight.
Indeed it was.It was no other way bring Midnight then this and also empowering Xalatath selfish ego as a villain.Wow always empower villains since all the time is a way to give players more Focus, more attention more determination to finsh an arch evil created character.
However there was also the option that Shadowguards suucesfull bring back Dimensius and they will start assaulting Azeroth it could also been a very good lore while we where force to think a solution to Dimensius problem so we don’t share Karesh fate, but maybe it was scrapped.
The Jailer wanted Azeroth world soul for some reason,is Xalatath put in same situation somehow.
The problem isn’t Alleria — it’s the writing. Feels like they’re dumbing it down to make it easier for teens to follow. But most of the playerbase is 25+, not 14. That’s probably why the story isn’t landing and people are reacting the way they are.
