This is appalling, are BGs designed in favour of the Horde or is it just there’s a higher percentage of better players playing Horde? I have no idea what’s going on but none of the BGs I enter are won by Alliance.
What’s going on?
Also, share your win/lose in random BGs.
True, but i think because alliance players are more chill and casual while horde are taking bgs and etc more seriously. But i cant even remember losing random bgs this expansion, probably like a week ago or something.
Actually my stats are pretty okay as Alliance! I play this druid since WotLK and play a BG here and there.
However, I noticed some nosediving alliance perfomances in BfA, especially in Brawls! Tinfoil hat on: Sometimes I have the feels Blizzard ist testing bots in brawls because Alliance plays so incredibly bad there, I don’t recognize them, I can’t believe it is even possible to play sooo sooo bad. Clueless what’s going on there, absolutely help and clueless.
Anyway, my stats:
Silvershard Mines 26/16 - 61%
Seething Shore 5/3 - 60%
Twin Peaks 35/21 - 60%
Strand of the Ancients 28/17 - 60%
Warsong Gulch 65/39 - 60%
Isle of Conquest 42/25 - 59%
Arathi Basin 53/30 - 56%
Eye of the Storm 30/16 - 53%
Alterac Valley 71/38 - 53%
Temple of Kotmogu 31/16 - 51%
Battle for Gilneas 37/19 - 51%
Deepwind Gorge 9/3 - 33%
Keep calm and blame match making, or racials. Its random battlegrounds so the odds are always swayed out of your favor if you queue alone unfortunately.
My experiences so far have been that Alliance were really really bad at the brawl this week. I went 25-0 solo queueing, and definitely ran into my fair share of 4-5 man guild groups just trying to get the quest done.
I’ve no idea how or why people are so bad at that battleground.
It really depends on the group you are with. For example I only PVP on my horde alt, today for the first time since it opened this week as the brawl, my horde group lost the temple brawl battleground. Usually horde easily wins it, but the alliance group were focused, well organized, and charged at us.
The horde does lose battlegrounds, just as alliance wins them. The key is communication, stay focused, and play to win. Without any of that, you can just kiss it all goodbye.
Only real design bias in BG’s is imho AV with the location of the alliance start point having a shorter bossrun then horde does, but that only matters with rushing and let’s be honest who still does rushing
Either way, your numbers do not match the total average. This means you were either unlucky or a losing factor (if you lose 250 out of 350 games then at that point the only variable those 250 lost games share is you), maybe there are ways that you can improve on yourself so that you’re a bigger net gain to your BG.
If you see no one taking charge of communication (or at the very least call incs) consider doing it, it will improve your odds by that much if your team communicates and the other team doesn’t
I’m not looking to bash you or call you a noob, I’m trying to make you realize there are a lot of ways to influence the outcome of a (small) bg as a single player
Horde actually has a better chokepoint on AV, which favors them when it is not a rush game
And flag maps go downhill for the horde FC, which male leap/jump abilities more effective (and i feel the enemy FC is easier to spot for the horde on warsong)
And on arathi, horde can reach blacksmith faster than allies (not 100% sure they didnt rework that one)
But on gilneas alliance can be slightly faster to WM
BGs maps aren’t that well balanced. But Imo that’s not the reason why alliance is worse, they lose on balanced map too.
Many factors, shorter queue being on of them. If I want to try a new spec/talent as ally, I just queue for a bg and try it there. As horde, i queue and get to practice it for 15min befor entering a bg.
And if you wait that long, you want to make sure tmyou win to make that time worth it
Fair enough, but it’s not as if we have the only chokepoint in AV
If you have a proper knockbacks I’d even say that the bridge is a strong contender and the alliance has chokepoints that work just as well.
The main reason I used the start location is because it leads to alliance winning everytime on a boss rush while every application of a chokepoint doesn’t always lead to victory because chokepoints can work both ways (steed of glory to break through the bridge defenses as horde, if their positioning is terrible and the lag not too bad you can even knock off half of the team that’s on the bridge)
All in all tho, I doubt the main reason for losses across all bg’s for the OP are map imbalances so it’s an empty discussion
There are plenty reasons why alliance lose bgs many stated as above, but horde do have the same issues, though probably have slightly more skilled players, especially when you look at the top servers.
The us boards claim the same discrepancies, some alliance saying the lose most of them and some alliance saying they win majority, its hard to know how many these wins are influenced by premades.
In my own experience, yes alliance do throw away matches, dont play as well as horde, items mentioned above. but i find the main influence i find is the servers you play against.
since beginning of expansion I seemed to be continually against german and russian pvp servers, well organised teams and premades, my wins must have been around 25 to 30%.
over the last two weeks they have been by far the majority mixed servers and massive increase in win rates. The only slight downside was maybe sunday where alliance definitely had more casuals, going for old objectives, not going helping key areas etc.
It also looks like we draw players from a very small pool, seeing many familiar faces. Thus you may have more casuals in that pool, maybe pve servers just doing the bg for daily, We can match the horde casuals, but not so much the pvp servers who are organised, required addons, key bindings and macros.
the idea that the horde are better players and dominating is honestly laughable, both sides have their share of good and bad players and overall the w/l ratio is pretty even.
Exactly this.
There should be an option if you wanna be involved an already started game or not. Or let people leave an already started BG in 1 minute without deserter penalty.
You can’t win AV with boss rush anymore. And horde has better access to SHB and SH GY.
Also the bridge choke point is useless. If alliance loose SH GY then they loose 2 towers as well so if there is a fight at the bridge then the game is already lost. Meanwhile if alliance caps IB GY horde still can defend TP.
Other BG maps are even more horde biased. The mines gives horde a free cart, twin peaks: one of the horde entrances are blocked with water and alliance base is on higher ground so it is easy to fly down half of the map with the flag. AB - well known horde advantage: BS is easily accessible by horde and blocked by water for alliance.
This doesn’t mean that it is impossible to win with alliance, just have a lower chance. Better horde pvp racials, russian and german premades, joining an already lost BG and these setbacks are added up to a level that it becomes obvious that you’ll have a lower chance to win with alliance than with horde.
Because you are a part of the group and you may not playing well either. Improve your gameplay and help your team win next time. I got 70% win ratio in random bgs .
