So for the past week I’ve noticed especially in Voldun is alliance groups of 10 or up just sitting there next to flight paths getting cheap kills. and when i go on to my alliance ALT all the groups i see that aren’t to do with PVE are “Voldun easy kills” or “Horde kill spam” like whats the deal with this? its not even making the game fun just bloody annoying.
Retaliation is the fun.
How you going to retaliate when your on your own against 15 players?
pay him no heed, he keeps going on about trying to get rid of horde people from warmode and ignores the pve’r alliance all next to him.
lfg, community, guild, friends, local def chat… telling me you can’t form a group? It’s not difficult. Give it a try. Prefer solo, no prob… but it’s not a solo game, you can try to solo, but it’s a multiplayer game. Which means multiplayer tactics work best.
Getting rid of pve’ers in wm, of both factions, is a good thing for wm. Every pass with the aoo quest should reduce Horde pve’ers each time. Every loss of aoo quest will reduce Alliance pve’ers. In theory. Good solution. Even if at least more often at 15% bonus than 20 or 30%, an improvement for wm.
Yeah you say that it isnt a solo game yet 99% of the time people will decline your party invite.
I don’t think that attitude of “turn off warmode” is a particularly helpful one in this situation. If you read the forums, horde players are fed up of being ganked by huge alliance raids at flight points and alliance players respond with “well you’ve had it easy, so deal with it or turn warmode off”.
The issue is forcing players to turn warmode off is the complete opposite of what this system was designed to do. The idea is to encourage players to participate in world pvp, but the AOO quest makes the pvp one sided. I play both horde and alliance and have done since the launch of BFA. The weeks before the introduction of the quest and the few weeks where it has not been present the world pvp has been so much more balanced, at least when you can find people. I find it difficult to ever find small group fights. It’s either very difficult to find anyone of the opposite faction, unless world quests or incursions are on (which is the point of them), or on the weeks that the quest is active, all flight paths and major world quests are ganked by huge groups of alliance.
The issue that so many horde players are having that it is difficult to motivate large enough groups of players to fight back against an alliance raid. There is no benefit from it, so the majority of players ignore it and just get on with their day. The modern version of wow is a very reward based system these days and so players expect to gain something from whatever activity they are participating in. I think it is difficult to argue with this as a large number of the alliance have to be motivated by a powerful quest in order to fight in the first place. I therefore find it incredibly frustrating when playing my horde characters when I read or hear comments like “turn warmode off”, or “this is a taste of your own medicine”. Do horde players really have to wait until enough players have been put off world pvp before they get the quest?
I want my old pvp server back. I turned on warmode on day 1 and have never turned it off. I like the pvp side of the game. I understand those days are long gone, but this new system allows players to turn it on when it suits them, then flip it back off once the quest is complete. If the AOO quest does end up on the horde faction, alliance only players will experience the hell that is being destroyed by 40 man raids at every flight path. As my alliance character I avoid these raids as I find ganking with overwhelming odds boring, although I understand why players do it. Why cant increased world quest rewards be motivation enough? I think the AOO quest needs to be removed or be available to players from both factions. It would also be nice that it requires a player to have warmode turned off for either the entirety of the previous week, or at least a large percentage. Alternatively, do not allow the quest to completed in a raid. Otherwise, as I previously stated, it is either difficult to find any world pvp, or it is incredibly one sided for the first few days.
it strikes me that this quest is having the long term affect of killing world pvp entirely. There are ever increasing reasons to have war mode turned off for both factions, except for the time to complete the quest. So please if you have bothered to read all I have written, please consider both sides of the argument, because ultimately it could kill part of the game you enjoy playing. I rarely post, but got so fed up of being corpse camped by a raid, from which I could not escape I came here to vent my frustrations. It is something I have never done before.
((I didn’t take the entire sentence, because I only need that snip for my reply ))
I think people need to communicate better, learn to ask for more/help in either general or trade.
It’s good we have the communities, but it doesn’t help much if a player ask for help in them 4 hours before I come online and sees it or the other players in the groups are so busy they don’t notice someone needs help.
And I only decline random invites, I hate when I get invited to a group by a player I can’t see or don’t whisper me or answers when I write - makes me think it was a mistake, and I was inspected instead and invited by mistake.
If people would dare more and write to people without comming with stuff like “lets make those alliance cowards cry” or “we will gank those hordebabies”, it makes me think "meh, I think I can handle this by myself "
The EU server is somewhat in the “same” (a " because it can be shifted be a couple of hours to every side) timezone, and that gives times where a lot of people are online and a lot are not.
A lot of people like to raid, and in those guilds I am in, I can se they all place their raid at the same time, in order to have every timezones in the guild covered and have as many participate.
And I believe a lot of the people who pvp does the same - the raid groups forms when most people are online, and those people are not in raidgroups.
From what I can see, a lot of people aren’t bound to a faction like they used to, so I make a guess that a lot switch either based on the day or the time of day.
And well, these peak hours with players that shift faction can make it a little difficult to find a group sometimes
But all in all Darthmoo I agree with your post
I think players that enjoy wpvp for the sake of wpvp, and not quests or rewards, on both factions, are happy enough with wm. Being outnumbered on a wq for example (not region) is just a challenge to a wpvper.
If Horde were getting an extra reward for wpvp, I wouldn’t care. Before 8.1, when Alliance always complained about imbalance, didn’t bother me. It’s good if eu has faction balance eventually, but I had plenty fun when more imbalanced than now.
Point is, WM needs to cater to those that wm for wpvp first, and everyone else second. And, like I said, wpvpers seem happy. Next, just looking forward to the new wm feature(s) in 8.2
Here we go, another whine thread
better get used to it, going to happen every week the alliance gets that quest.
I agree, I enjoy Wpvp for what it is, not for the reward. I would have it on with a 0% bonus. I am equally not fussed by one faction getting a free piece of loot over the over. But it is impossible to fight back at certain times of the week. I can guarantee every horde player has experienced flying into terrace of the devoted during the week the AOO quest is up to find 40 alliance players waiting at their destination. You then after corpse running a few times manage to escape.
And please don’t dismiss our arguments as “whining” or “suck it up now your suffering like we did”. These are genuine concerns by up to 50% of the player base. It should be fair, fun and accessible by all. I stated previously I play both factions and seriously it is now way worse for the Horde during the AOO quest weeks than it ever was for the Alliance. Please be empathetic to others concerns about the game. If people turn off Warmode, it sucks for everyone. If people quit the game, your game gets less funding and attention, its a worse situation for everyone.
We need to find some sort of solution that works for all. We cant go back to a situation where one faction suffers over another. Increase the % bonus for the under-represented faction if need be. Give them a 100% bonus if necessary, but that AOO quest needs to go. It promotes large scale farming raids and makes the game incredibly frustrating for only one faction.
And not all Wpvper’s are happy. I world pvp on both factions and it is not fun on either at this moment. Having overwhelming numbers or being overwhelmed is boring.
Yes. Just ignore him. He secretly loves acting like a D-bag and comes up with a million excuses to justify it.
Another guy whining about whine threads.
Must by why multitudes of alliance pve’rs are turning wm on…OR could it have something to do with the buff and welfare gear? I wonder…
these “people” will server hop the second you get any kind of group going though,so retaliation is rarely possible.
Also, when you land from a flight point and die instantly, you can’t do anything about it
There’s a spike in Alliance pve’ers when we hit 20%. This results in a spike in Horde killing activity, don’t have to call it wpvp if you don’t consider it wpvp. Could call it a cull. There’s gonna be indiscriminate kills, but Horde pve’ers are more likely to switch off wm. This is what happened last time. We reached 15%, the Alliance pve’ers turned off wm, and there was a reduction in Horde pve’ers too. But, over the course of several weeks, Horde pve’ers switched back on, putting us back to 20%… repeat.
I suspect this will happen a few times. There’s a chance that on each pass at 20%, a % of Horde pve’ers that turn off wm, keep it off, allowing us to get down to 10%. Faction balance is good if possible, but the important thing is to increase the number of players on your wm shard that are there to wpvp.
This is work in progress. But when it’s at 15%, wpvp is noticably funner, because less pve’ers on both sides.
Player choices affect the fp. If it is a problem, a question about fp status in local defence could help. Might not get an answer. That is their choice. Usually though, if fp is having problems, it’s stated automatically in your chat. But, certain fps are more an issue than others. Can just use the next nearest. Player choice. Sounds a hassle maybe, but some simple strat is part of wm.
Lfg is not always easy to form a group. That’s just the nature of lfg and players you don’t really know. If you wm a lot, a wpvp community could be the answer. Join or create one. I made a small one, and have regular wm fun with a few players, using lfg mostly to supplement group numbers, get a healer, etc.
Sound like too much hassle? Player choice. Your choices, fellow ally choices, random ally choices, opponent choices… WM is a rich wpvp environment, so many variables, love it!
its been like that ever since the alli got their bonus.
i play on a alliance heavy server(62%), on various occasions i actually watched alli farm horde players incoming from a flightpath with groups of 10-15 players.
and lets face it,noone is going to serverhop for a few simple quests so trying to do a tortollan wq or go to a neutral FP is always a risk on my server.
so basically its a win-win situation for alli.
no matter what they always get a bonus, even when they outnumber us and gank away unassuming hordies who dont even have a chance to do anything .
Its war.
Horde against Alliance
There should be casualties at all lvls…
ganking…
camping…
No rules, only one winner
