The statement is not untrue many Horde are being massively outnumbered. I cannot play with WM on as Horde currently, you struggling as Alliance (as many more are.) Surely there is a better way for Blizzard to do this because it is not working currently.
Perhaps there was a rare up that drops a mount in your zone. Someone made a WM raid to kill it and it sharded you into a populated Alliance WM zone ?
I did seem to get sharded quite a bit in WM. Sometime there was would a few horde running about , 5 mins later they were everywhere.
its been like that since 8.3.5 for me, for months.
“Completely untrue” founded upon what, your own personal experience? Come on…
I have just logged in at the maw and it’s a total **** show. I took a screenshot but I can’t post it here for whatever reason.
I always imagine your hands shaking with fury whilst typing when replying to any anti-alliance thread.
WM set for the Whole Region of Europe, There are more Horde Players in the entire EU region but more alliances have WM on due to having 30% buff, so mostly you will see a lot of alliance in WM.
This can’t happen currently they changed how sharing works you don’t port shard until you go to a major city as far as I know.
Logged in this morning to do some WQ in Maldrax
As soon as I land on the ground there is a huge group of alliance stood killing horde who land. I res’d and went straight into stealth (god bless stealth) I’m currently sat watchin about 20+ alliance running around killing 1, 2 horde at a time like they’re a quest mob.
What’s the value of the war mode buff for you? I didn’t check it this week. If it’s 10% and the value for the Alliance is still 30%, there’s still way more Horde than Alliance in the war mode overall. Because the value of the buff is being changed automatically week to week, based on regional stats. Unless something broke, ofc.
If you’re not joining a group with warmode on then you are going to get stomped by people forming groups for the weekly quest.
Horde or Alliance, doesn’t matter. If you roam solo or in small groups then the organised players are going to ruin you everytime.
It has nothing to do with faction imbalance or sharding, it’s because you aren’t organising. You will see tons of groups forming in the group finder, just join them.
I might have to try this. I find people in the game these days are about as social as a hermit crab but worth a try
I have just tried to jump some alliance players who were 3v1 on a horde and within seconds there is literally about 10+ alliance on top of me. I love WPVP but it’s not at all fun when you cant even have a fight without a whole raid jumping in
Edit; Not a single group I can find exists… Getting instagibbed in every quest zone by masses of Alliance. I guess it’s warmode off and boring questing then
On Alliance, right now on Silvermoon, there’s at least 15 groups for the WM weekly.
If you’re not seeing any for Horde then you found the problem.
Pardon my ignorance if its not the case but I don’t think horde get or have any quests around war mode. Think that’s only for alliance which is a bit ridiculous and causing this problem
It’s a quest you pick up in Oribos from the PvP quartermasters (The Enclave area on the map).
I didn’t think it was Alliance only. Not certain though. Haven’t played my Horde characters this expansion yet.
EDIT: I’ve checked and you’re right. It’s only available if the WM xp bonus is 20% or more. Now, this is a problem and it needs to be removed.
I didn’t know that. There’s the problem right there then
Yeah it is a bit of a problem. Most shards I seem to end up in are just packs of alliance in the maw and can’t get anything done. So unfortunately war mode for me is being turned off
The Horde outnumbers the Alliance in EU, in Warmode as well.
BUT the game uses sharding. So sometimes even with the lesser buff of the “over-represented faction” you are dumped into a shard where the Horde is in the minority.
It seems it’s hard for Blizz to balance the faction populations in individual shards.
As sometimes you end up in a balanced shard, but often you’ll end up in a shard where one faction dominates the other.
Since our buff is still 30%, obviously the horde on average outnumbers the alliance to a great degree. That said, there are exceptions to this rule:
#1 there may be shards where things are reversed.
#2 on RP realms, for some bad reason, the generic buff is applied, although their shards are entirely separate from non-RP realms, which form the vast majority of realms. But the pop balance is turned around in RP realms, so there the alliance outnumbers the horde and has a 30% bonus. I’d classify this as a bug, or a mistake in implementation.
I have yet to see an image where alliance is swarming a rare, you know why i don’t see? because there isn’t. 9/10 horde controls all hot spots.
Only spot i see alliance control is entrance of the maw really.
