Allied race rep requirements

I’ve heard the rep requirements for allied races are being removed?

I’m still salty that they are locked behind rep grinds and hundreds of WQs. Depending on someone’s playtime availability, this could take months!

Additionally, if you’re a new player (solo or with friends) and interested in the allied race, it’ll be a monumental task to get even 1 race unlocked that you like the look of.

It sure would be nice to get a start on some new shiny toons to go into shadowlands with sooner, rather than later. The requirements for allied races excluding the reputation change is still quite a challenge, or at least a time commitment.

Has it been confirmed that the rep requirement is being removed, and do we have a timescale?

All the best,

It’s datamined in the Shadowlands alpha that the reputation requirement is going away, in Shadowlands. It’s not official confirmation, but it’s fair to assume it’s happening.

Good to know blizzard wasted all of our time
Better not grind any races next time!

Yeah, and those bad, bad developers are also going to make our hard earned epics obsolete, replaced by greens!

Better not grind any gear next time, it’s all going to trash with the next expansion (or even next patch, oh dear)!

AND THE LEVELS! I DID NOT GRIND 120 LEVELS TO BE REDUCED TO 50! God damn, all that XP gone to waste. And the Azerite power! Sheesh.

Man, this game’s bad. I’ll just go play the AH, 'cos they ain’t making that obsolete, hahaha.

Races unlock are permanent, I grinded legion races in BfA. Not comparable, you are stupid to think we have no reason to be angry our time is wasted all the time, why lock them for a time if plans are to make them free?

Personally I think it’s best not to waste weeks and months on raids. Just wait an expansion or two and you can waltz back in, solo the thing and get what you want in a fraction of the time. People who do content while it’s current are real suckers.

it kind of makes sense to remove some requirements. Otherwise people would have to grind legion and bfa rep during shadowlands if they want to unlock it then. wich seems like alot of pointless grinding for newer/returning players. It would just stack up on eachother as alot of work

What about us, the Legion/BfA rep farmers who lost months by farming the req reps? :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe they should let us have the new allied races for free and make the new players farm rep for it :stuck_out_tongue: Who farmed rep and unlocked allied races in BfA should get the new races for free! Thats fair.

No idea, maybe some title/toy/tmog. but more likely nothing xD

sadly you dont always get something when older content gets made easier

If it took you months to get those reps you didn’t farm them

Dont worry we will get them nice reviews and recommendation to our friends
so we will find a way to reward this stupid grind!

New rule boiz: see new grind - ignore it = will be free

Yet.

WoD Legion and BFA Still will require you to go back, to do those exact reps for those allied races to be able to fly. like litterally, why maintain a rule for something to break it with another…

they’ve litterally never removed the Grind Requirements for flying in any of the expansions that required one.

they outright removed Mage towers Instead of letting the content get easier for new players

they are outright removing the AH Mount from the game instead of making it easier for new players.

Im not annoyed if allied races get unlocked to the masses in all honesty, i just think its alittle out there that blizzards reverting the requirements for this one grind… yet leaving the rest in place for us to suffer through.

If they’re going to pass off Old Content As a Easy access route for players who returning after a expansion or beginning the game.

  • Mage towers Should Return.
  • Old Flightpaths should be removed and allowed for all
  • AH Mount should half in price.

1 Rule for ALL old content…

these are all being removed under some idea of “well they played at this time this is something they have to show for it”… or “we dont want peoples efforts to feel wasted” yet they cherry pick content to make Accessible to everyone Without a thought to those who upheld subscriptions and more for the sake of getting them unlocked.

these are aesthetical choices in the game, that too were not made easy for the players… and some of which completely removed from the game. there has been equal noise about Mage towers as they have been about Allied race Requirements. so why does blizzard only listen to one.

and before someone says

“we already stated they werent doing it before the feedback”

Ion Stated on BFA Alpha, they would make the requirements easier but not remove them in future expansions.

theres LOADS who wanna go back and get their mage tower skins for Transmog.
theres LOADS who Will in future expansions want that AH Mount.
there are lots of us who quit in these prior expansions and are stuck travelling by ground everytime we level a new character.

if they unlock allied races to everyone for free, good. the system shouldnt of existed to begin with. but make the rule include ALL Old content.

Once again a smart move from Blizzard. No new races to add in Shadowlands? No problem, make the old ones available. There’s plenty of people like me, who are now getting 10 new races.

New content without really adding new content.

Seeing as everyone is skipping this part of your question. Most likely the rep requirements will be removed in the Shadowlands pre-patch, if not then, then it’ll happen when the expansion is released.

So you can do everything now minus the reputation and do the unlock questline as soon as the rep requirement is removed, you should be able to start the expansion with those races unlocked.

only if you are willing to wait for years. it might be just the legion ones that get it removed while bfa get a rep boost like legion had this expansion
