Allied race transmog restriction

Just made my first mechagnome and noticed you cannot transmog anything on the hands, arms, legs and feet. It doesn’t bother me since I only want the heritage armour of a mechagnome since I wanted full mechagnome robot head and all so heritage armour is the only way to get that.

But I remember a debate about not having naga as a playable race because it would be too hard to get the transmog to fit the tail and other aspects. But you could of done what you did for mechagnomes to the naga too, just not have them wear pants.
And for the mount thing, surely with all the technology you have you could have a naga tail resting over one side of the mount.

Let’s talk about the jumping animation now. And mounts. Oh yes, let’s talk mounts.

They could sit like mermaids in Disney movies :joy:

I mentioned mounts at the end, pretty simply solution, plus jumping surely they can work on a jumping snake sort of thing. Surely they have the technology at blizzard to do this, or is it so imposible?

Naga, ogres and several other frequently requested races would have to be actually fully implemented races and it’s more convenient for Blizzard to stick to allied races which is just recycling. Short of expansion packs, it’s not reasonable to assume we’ll get regular races implemented and naga kind of missed their chance now I would think.

Yeh for some reason I hoped during the queen azshara patch I thought blizz might take us by surprise and have some rebelious naga as a playable race, but sadly we just got reskins of already playable races…

  1. They should remove Worgen* ability to mount.

  2. They should partially cure/evolve/devolve Naga into being able to shift into Nelf-Highborne the same way as Worgen.

  3. Give Naga underwater mount form for swimming like Worgen have for running.

  4. Worgen and Naga will automatically turn into their human* forms while mounting.

Maybe the mechagnomes will get full armour in the future, if people really ask for it and they are popular enough.

But - Isn’t the point of having a mechagnome the robot arms and legs? Why not make a regular gnome if you want to cover them with transmogs? There are the racials ofc but op is only mentioning looks and wanting a robot head.

The mechagnomes at least have arms and legs, unlike naga, plus a skeleton already in game = cheap and practical. Think of all the clipping, floating shoulders, elongated necks, stretched pixels etc of armour put on races not present from Vanilla. The ever present ugly misfitting shoes that they solved makeshift by"hide shoes" for example. I’m pretty sure they skipped class armour and gave us BfA “sets” and heritage instead, because the cost of making it look decent is too big.

Imagine the programming needed to make older gear look decent on for example naga. Do you really prefer Donald Duck style with no pants?

Edit: Jesi had a good solution for the naga.

Thing is, it’s kind of an all-or-nothing approach. What if you only want the arms? Only the legs? Only one arm? It seems really lazy and it isn’t even very lore-friendly since the whole “how mechanized do you want to be?” thing is an important issue to mechagnomes, supposedly.

Good explanation, I didn’t think as far as wanting just one part robotic.

Or connect their tail with the mounts tail - avatar style
