For real? My bf will be happy with this change!
I have said too many times now “I am sorry hun, I will have to google it - I did it too long ago to remember how” when he has asked about allied races and unlocks.
He spent a lot of time unlocking void elfs not too long ago, and hasn’t really felt like he has super much time between work to unlock the others.
Oh nice, first I farmed bfa flying for month last year when I started playing WoW, and then I spent some days to unlock all achievements for races and they removed both pathfinder requirements and these one now. Cool. Maybe we can buy arena gear for gold next patch who knows
About time.
I saw a tweet about that this morning, very nice change
It can be a slog. I remember trying to unlock vulpera in Shadowlands, in fresh levelling gear.
I’d already met the rep requirements on this character, which had by that point transferred to alliance, so fortunately all my alt had to do was go to Orgrimmar embassy, pick up the quest, and handle mobs that were designed for people in endgame BfA gear. I spent hours kiting single mobs around with frost shock because they could 2-shot me.
So for the sake of all those who have yet to do the unlocks, and especially those who didn’t do the rep grinds at the time, I am glad to see this
And you know what? I won’t feel any worse because they “didn’t earn it”. People shouldn’t have to earn things by being bored by literal weeks of last-expansion’s rep grinds. A new or returning player who’d set their heart on an allied race then been faced with that has a good chance of disappearing again without bothering.
Good change
I guess they mean you don’t need the reps but still need to do the unlocking quests, right?
If not… it’d be nice to at least keep some of the related Allied Race rewards (mounts, transmogs, tabards…) only to those who complete the quests.
Ofc, I expect the quests to remain available even if they are not needed.
Good change.
Are they still unlocked in the current way, as in through a quest from the embassy?
I should go do the Zandalari one just in case they remove the questline. I think that’s the only one I’ve not unlocked yet.
The reps been removed as a requirement for a while now.
You still need to pick up the quest at the embassy and do the unlock scenario, but you no longer need to do the questlines and achievements associated with that race.
For example currently you need to do the voldun storyline to unlock vulpera, and all 3 zones on argus for void elves. Only then can you start the unlock scenario.
In 10.1.5 this isnt needed.
You just to do the scenario with only a level requirement to start it.
A zero skill grind getting removed is not the same as handing out pvp gear for gold.
post edited.
Only the ones with a strong will and dedication could end up getting it. Not for lazy people I guess and it was good, though a bit too much.
