ALLOW for covenant ability macro

why doesn’t this exist already? it’s very user-unfriendly

just allow so I can cast covenant ability (no matter which it is) with simple macro
/cast covenantability for example

it existed during campaign as far as i know, but it doesnt work on max level

That would be nice, yes, but you can make a macro that covers all 4 covenant abilities:

Why put that much effort for blizz if its going to be in trash bin in less than 1 year

You actually believe that 9.2 will last less than a year? Cute.

Where I said that 9.2 will last less then a year? I only told that covenant abilities are going into trash bin, nothing about the end of 9.2 or even believes of it.

Very very strange people, please stop offending others with only your wrong assumptions.

You said its going in the trash bin within a year.

So either you think covenants are going to be take out mid patch or you think the patch will be less than a year.

Which is it?

Yet again, assumptions about about which one exactly “I was thinking about” and now I have to choose between 2 assumptions, great

Very nice!

So what do you think is gonna last less than a year?

I’ve had occasions where the macro simply bugged out and tried to execute the wrong covenant ability, and because of how the macro has to work you always start with a question mark as icon, which is really annoying.

It’s a shame this is even required when switching covenants.

They really didn’t make the expansion with switching in mind, which is annoying. It should have worked like a placeholder ability no matter where you put it. One for the cov specific and the class specific.

However Blizz were so against flexibility and as a result it doesn’t work very smoothly the way they’ve tried to fix it afterwards.

What other options are there?

Instead of handwaving, clarify. Or just walk away because what you said wasn’t smart.

The reddit thread I linked has macros that have correct icons. Personally, I use a variant of those macros and an addon I wrote that updates the icons, so that I have more space for macro text. Have been working 100% reliably since day two of the patch for me.

Each time I reload my UI or log in, I first have to press the button once (regardless of whether I cast it or not) before the icon appears.

I don’t like this because it won’t display the icon button until you press it, and you also can’t use trinkets as a condition depending on Covenant.

You want this:

Another good find, I must try these out when I get back to playing again!

Now that we’re at it with these types of addons, this one is seriously useful:
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/healthstone-auto-macro

That’s why I use an addon to update the icon.

I prefer macros, because those are fully customisable. I do use an addon to update the icon, but only touch that, rather than the macro text as well.

https://git.madhouse-project.org/tinkspring/CovenantTooltipUpdate/releases + a variant of the macros linked above. Works fine, icons correct without using them first, etc.

You write the macros yourself (at least for the covenant addon). They do have a sane default (just cast the spell) but you can edit them however you like.

how do I make macro, that uses Tiger’s Fury, Unchained Gladiator’s Badge of Ferocity and Covenant ability?
