Almost 50 reputations have been reset

Hey guys and gals. I am a so-called “completist” in WoW, and prior to my almost 5-year absence from the game I had raised more than 70 reputations to Exalted ( I have the achievement for it ), and when I came back a month or so ago, I was horrified to find out that, even though I still have the achievement, my reputation counter now reads “27”, instead of 70 ( I checked out the next achievement for 80 reputations ). And it’s not just a visual glitch - my Reputations tab is also completely messed up - Cata, WotLK reps are all either missing or have gone to seemingly random values at Neutral/Friendly.

And this on the very same character I raised those reputations with! I have only had one primary character who’s done all the heavy lifting. I sent in a ticket to Blizzard, hoping for a swift resolution of this absurdity, and I was given a response stating that it’s apparently a “bug”, and the devs are working on it.

Seriously though! This isn’t a small thing by any means, do these guys realize how time-consuming it can be to raise 50 reputations to Exalted? I am now forced to:

  1. Wait for a fix ( completely unclear when and IF it will drop )

  2. Regrind all the lost reputations, which will be a complete time-waster, and instead of catching up on the 4 freakin expansions I’ve missed, I’d be forced to do something I’ve already done = all of this equating to Blizzard squeezing more money out of me in the form of “gametime”.

Has anyone else had this kind of junk happen to them? I asked politely if I could have my reputation count fixed manually, and was told they can’t do it.

it happens with mounts and Tmog too

you have to raise a ticket online and get a GM to look at the history of the character to claim it
ive had it with Mogs mainly

theres no fix for it, this is just what happens now often

If it’s a known bug then unfortunately all you can do is wait for a fix to be applied. I wouldn’t regrind them myself but I do understand the urge to do so.

If it’s reached the status of known bug you are definitely not the only person affected.

I checked my own armory and it seems certain expansions aren’t showing atm:-

As they are older reputations it may be that many like me have not noticed they’ve vanished. I will check in game when I log in too.

A few years ago there was some servers that got merged and some players with the same names on those servers could end up getting everything lost. So Blizzard had to restore everything on those accounts that was affected.

I’m not on a connected realm and those realms that are connected you get your old realm name as a kind of surname. This was so that no one had to rename.

Connected realms did cause all sorts of issues though, I agree. However if my reps are missing then this isn’t related to that.

With the current state of Blizzard’s customer support, OP would probably have enough time to regrind all of those reputations three times over before getting a worthwhile ticket response from an actual human being that can help.

Bug could possibly be related to them making changes to account wide rep for the TWW- would certainly makes sense that in the process something is broken though it should not show up on live.

Except they’ve already done that step.

My reps are intact in game, even if the reputation on armory isn’t working.

It could be behind the scenes prep but I would have thought alpha/beta testing would be a better place for that.

Only thing I’ve seen close to this was a friend who swapped races from Human to Night Elf because there was a trick to get somewhere as a Wisp to get something (can’t remember the details). He lost some of his reps in the process (not 50 but a couple).

In my defence, to avoid that mistake, I’d have to read the OP first before responding, which is of course an unrealistic expectation. Even ridiculous, some might say.

Old reps on armoury pages have been missing for a long time. There were multiple threads about it several months back but nothing has been done, don’t think it was even acknowledged.

I lost goblin faction at exalted when i did race change and blizz could not fix it.

I will not regrind it so i be sitting at neutral, it’s what u get from buying services from blizz.

The main race reps are a very easy gain (hardly even call it a grind). Wear a tabard and run TBC dungeons, @ ~2000 rep per run it’s about 20 runs.

I had half of my tabard collection disappear randomly. Don’t wait for it all to just reappearing, because if it’s like me, they won’t.

3 things to do.

  1. Make a post in customer service section of the forums
  2. Bug report it in-game
  3. Open up an in-game ticket

I had to do all 3 of those before I got given back what the bug had taken from my account. You have to really kick up a stink these days in order to get help from someone who isn’t a robot.

They also told me in the beginning there’s nothing they can do. It was a lie. They have the ability to help.

I don’t care i had it at exalted why can’t they just fix it, i mean i payed for a service.

Had less impactful where a lot of my quest progression in old content like EK and Kalimdor got reset. So whenever I fly about doing world events seeing the ! quest markers everywhere as though I never did them before…
