Alt+tab makes wow unplayable

So if I press ‘‘windows’’ key and check something else,and switch back to wow.My fps drops for no reason and its literally unplayable.It works fine as soon as I restart wow.What should I do ?

I get how this must be annoying. What I would suggest doing to improve WoW performance when you Alt+Tab :

  • Out-of-date drivers might cause such issues and are one of the first things to check when a game is having problems. Check for updates , please!
  • Disable addons and try without them. You can also reset your user interface to make sure your files and addons are not corrupted.
  • Check for any active Overlay programs that may conflict with the game’s ability to display properly!
  • In WoW, consider changing the display mode to fullscreen windowed and change your “Background FPS” to something lower than you have now :
    Esc > System > Advanced > right-hand side there are 2 sliders to set it the FPS!

I checked the background FPS and this did help.
