- “Make sure the wind hit you before the boss”.
- “Have your back to the wind to get a buff”.
Which one is it? What is the correct tactic for getting the buff?

If you are facing the boss, they mean the same thing, but I have to say my brain absorbs the second one better.
The wind go in a direction, if you are between where the wind is coming from and the boss, you are UPWIND of the boss, this is good, think of it boss is BadFarting so you do not want to be down wind from him.VerySmelly. So want to be upwind from him all the time, it does not matter if you turn your back to him you still do not smell it.

There are green and red debuff icons when the wind blows. Just move a little bit until it turns green. You don’t need to be on %100 (180°) correct direction, because you have other things to dodge.

The best way to do it is to position yourself near under the boss somewhere you can always hit the boss. When the wind direction changes, you move in a small area (two or three side steps, 2 or 3 D, A or W press, nothing more, don’t position yourself on the north pole so you don’t have to move to South Africa later) by using a pathway 90° vertically under the boss until you get green buff again.

From a healer perspective who prioritizes healing the group over doing damage on the boss, only the 1st is true. It is completely about your position, not if you get the wind in your back or in your face. When that was true i could just set my foot on 1 spot and just turn my char around and keep healing the group with full green buff, since i can heal players who are behind me.
