By the love of C’thun no…
The Horde has always and should always be the Orc themed faction I love to hate. I dread of thinking about a same case scenario for the Alliance, where the Alliance is being dominated by something terrible like Draenei…

Sorry, but even if I acknowledge the effort and appreciate the work put on it (some ideas/thoughts regarding it do have merit), I just feel like forcing the overarching troll theme upon the rest of the Horde would definetly be negative in the long run.
Zandalari are excessively overbearing. The fact they are introduced as Horde allies instead of subjects to the faction is indicative enough regarding said trait. And if they were to keep their traits in place, their bias regarding certain stuff would definetly end up eroding the faction as much as any dictatorial regime.
As things are now, the only thing that could fix the Horde in a longer run, would be to reach an agreement of mutual compromise.
And stop trying to put a single representative that will inevitably force his own beliefs and bias upon the rest.
Remove orc, Forsaken, or troll hegemonies, and create a council. An alliance with member states that have same footing on faction affairs.
Orc rule worked for as long as the Horde was comprised by orc minded cultures. That’s no more.
And it won’t/wouldn’t/shouldn’t for trolls either.
Not without sacrificing some other lamb in the altar of storytelling.
Blizzard likes emotional, character-driven, epic stories. Councils slow things down and complicate them. While I don’t like Blizzard’s style, a council just wouldn’t be a good fit for it, and you would end up with a council in name only, where you would just have to assume that everyone agreed to everything that was decided offscreen, no matter how poorly it fits the other characters.
In the same vein it would of course be nice, if Blizzard would focus on the diversity of peoples instead of trying to force them under one style and banner… But Blizzard doesn’t. They like their easy markers of faction identity. Red vs. Blue. Spkes vs. shiny plate. They want you to connect to your faction over your race. And as long as they want that, a dominating culture is kind of necessary. It also helps them by cutting design costs.
I understand your points, but I do think they go counter to Blizzard’s design goals, and are thus unrealistic. Changing the dominating culture seems quite possible to me, in contrast.
I would like a much stronger focus on the different races myself (and I think in the Alliance we have it worse than you guys, concerning that), but I don’t think it is a coincidence that it hasn’t happened yet, and even the so-called Alliance hasn’t got any kind of ruling council that ever played any noteworthy role in the game.
F*** NO!
i’ve had quite enough of the shoddy, mud huts.
the Horde needs a new type of architecture.
Mud huts with spikes >>> Mud huts with golden spray paint.
Zandalai don’t live in mud huts.
Mud pyramids*
Thanks for the replies everyone.
It’s time to go to work, but I wanted to leave a comment to expand the discussion.
Thanks Wimbert, I didn’t knew you had made a similar thread.
You got the right points.
I will explain why.
I will leave some thoughts that went through my mind while making this thread.
Activision Blizzard stance.
The new faction would had to obey their current writing narrative:
Thanks for your attention.
Cheers.
You’re out of luck there buddy. Mud huts with spiky bits is what defines the Horde.
It’s part of it’s very soul. Even if Azeroth, even if cosmos is gone there will always be mud huts as a grand testament of your factions’ feats.
yup, it makes sence when talking about the orcish horde, but that horde is looong gone.
Stone pyramids. Stone - like that floating rock in space that elves live on.
Aren’t the pyramids gold? Or gold plated at least.
Aren’t people always complaining that they don’t want a “Red Alliance”?
I recall opposite complaints about not wanting a Blue Horde regarding the High King concept
Yet unlike the Red Alliance, we’re stuck with this and have no say in the matter, no matter how derivative it is storywise.
not like we have a say in this either.
if we did, then i have been living under a rock.
Overall tbh I’d like if All trolls would join the horde overall, ALL OF THEM, so the ultimate troll empire was equally in the horde…
…and those elves never were in horde, ugh
They -kind of- are in a way, the Amani, Sandfury and Gurubashi are allies of the Zandalari in the same sense the Horde are I think? I mean all tribes can be found in their city.
Very indirectly, related to Zandalari and under banner of Zandalar… Though i guess some join Atal’zul? Or maybe independent to horde, indirectly via Zandalar… But i hope this officially happen
Tbh I would see them in horde rather than b elves and others…
Tribal, spiritual honorable horde is the horde i love, just like Warcraft 3
You forgot about the pandas op.
