Am I doing it wrong?

I used to play an affliction warlock, but this expansion decided to switch to survival hunter.

My problem is that I win 3 out of 12 blitzes. I have a feeling that I play survival wrong on a fundamental level.

My damage is mediocre (on warlock I was in the top rows regardless of my gear). My survivability is ok, and I can win 1×1, but I usually need so much time to kite someone to death that my victory does not matter in terms of objectives.

In contrast to my warlock (former 2100 RBG) I am not an asset, but a detriment to my team.

What is my role in blitz?

I am like a semi-melee which dies if he gets into a melee fight with actual front-liners. Bombing from midrange is a worse variant of warlock’s pressure.

Should I switch to marksmanship?

So hunter in general is a versatile class not mattering the spec, but the best being Marksman and Survival, when it comes to objectives, maps like Arathi/Deepwind/gilneas, they can use pets (some can be in stealth) to assist with the anti cap, on top of that you got traps that can trap, stun enemies who attemp to ninja a node. Not to mention the aoe arrow volley, that can also help with interrupting capping attempts and knockbacks.

Flag maps like WSG, you simply hunt down the enemy flag capper and destroy him from afar with the flag stack debuff, and with blitz, the process is pretty speed up which plays in your favour.

But a major factor is important to remain communicated with your teams to improve synergy amongst the classes and chances of success, hunters is one of those classes that can be played aggressively or defensively and simply it’s a matter of practice and learning whilst understanding the map, and your team’s needs.

Easier to play, and more forgiving imo. So I would.

Yep, after the spec change I have 3/6.

The damage is similar, but my impact is way higher: I can focus objectives w/o directly participating in the brawl around it.
