Am I following the right path to Nightborne?

I’m working on unlocking the Nightborne race.
I think the road to get there is extremely long. At least all quests from Suramar and then I think there will also be world quests.
The annoying thing about it is that I am now putting in a lot of effort and it is possible that the Nightborne will be available as a playable race in the next expansion. It wouldn’t be the first time in WoW that something like this has happened!

The requirements for unlocking the Nightborne Allied Race are as follows:

After completing these, you will have earned the Allied Races: Nightborne Allied Races: Nightborne achievement, will receive Shal'dorei Tabard Shal’dorei Tabard and Nightborne Manasaber Nightborne Manasaber, and can create your own Nightborne.

Not sure what achievement criteria you have left for this Allied Race? Simply go to the BFA attunement tracker, hit Load Character, enter in character info, and see what you still have to complete!

Doesn’t seem too bad these days to unlock allied races

You used to need Rep to unlock them but the rep requirements were removed from Allied Races. Not sure if the Insurrection Achievement mentioned in Puny’s post still has rep gates in the questline though.

Then there is a short quest line from the embassy in Orgrimar.

Not sure the requirements would be lowered again in TWW but the Insurrection storyline is quite good anyhow and worth doing at least once.

  • All restrictions for unlocking Allied Races have been removed, with the exception of a level requirement.
  • All Allied Races can now be unlocked once you have a level 40 character on your account (was level 50).

Seems like all you need to do now is visit the embassy in Orgrimar and pick up the quest to start the unlock story.

Although as I said above the Insurrection storyline is good and worth doing at least once.

Why even have requirements at this point?

And I have said it before and will keep saying it, having requirements to unlock a race was, is and will always be stupid.

Thanks, that makes things much easier!

Wowhead need to do some updating then if there is no requirement at all now.

My bad

All that is left is the introductory quest chain. These races start from level 10 to make up for the time spent on the quests.

Ooooh maybe i can finally unlock the nightborne then

Because even at lvl 40 some questlines are tough to complete, thanks to crappy scaling.

Nope, the problem is that if you are a new player and you saw, oh idk lets say vulpera or kul’tiran and said “oh gee those look cool, I might try this WoW game my great grandfather keeps talking about”, that new player will have to create a character they probably do not want level to 40 (now) unlock the race, abandon said character, create the character they actually wanted to create and do it all over again.

With hero classes you atleast started with a higher level than what the unlock requirements were (idk if DHs and DKs still have unlock requirements), as far as I remember DKs needed you do have a lvl 35-45 character and they started at lvl 58, DHs needed a lvl 70 and htey started at lvl 98, Evokers are simmilar (don’t know what the req level is atm). For an AR you need lvl 40 and then you get rolled back to 10… See the issue here ?

Insurrection is a long quest chain but worth it, it’s one of the better stories they have told within the game in my opinion! Hope you’re able to have some fun with it.

Edit: Just seen that most requirements are removed. Well, it WAS a good quest chain.

Do it. :dracthyr_tea:

Just thinkinking about the Suramar questline takes me back. This is thé way to give players an insightful end-game questing experience imo. The city still is still one of the best looking zones to date, brought us memes (An illusion!) and a great story culminating in the Nightwell raid. Whenerver I’m flying over Suramar and hear the music I get nostalgic.

Sure you needed rep but at the time it came naturally by playing the game and grinding AP, though I don’t remember it being that tedious. (AP farming kinda was, granted)
I also remember doing the Whitered minigame and liking it. Shame they didn’t bring back something similar.

Yep its quite easy now .it took me just one day each to unlock all these allied races for horde and alliance

Im only lacking the nightborne and that was because i needed rep to unlock next part of a questchain i think. I never got around to getting the rep.
