I have been really getting into hpal and most guides recommend not casting heals at all, fully relying on the instant spells. This works great for me! However… does that mean I am supposed to just ignore Infusion of Light procs if I want to play my hpal well?
Needless to say it feels really really awkward just not using it at all. At the same using it for the sake of using it doesn’t feel good too, especially if you are in the flow of getting out all these cool instant spells while being super mobile.
How do you deal with this fellow hpals? I feel like Blizzard should consider making it a talent for people who prefer caster builds, or design it in a way that it’d benefit the meta playstyle, like turning the cast heals into an instant spell or something.
tl;dr: Infusion of Light feels awkward. How to deal with that?
Hey! I am also quite new to being a Holy Paladin and am going to main it for Dragonflight. I agree that it does feel a bit awkward, but you need to remember how this can interact with your talent choices.
Tower of Radiance means healing your Beacon target with Flash of Light or Holy Light grants 1 holy power, so if you use Holy Light via influsion of light on your Beacon target, you will get 2 holy power. So while it might result in overhealing, it can be a good way to build holy power quickly.
I’ve not read any guides that say to completely ignore it but, I believe they will be out there. Personally I try use them with Holy Light if I can get the cast off in time and if I need the holy power, but I will always prioritise WoG/LoD before consuming infusion.
Hi, you never ignore you IOL procs because how it interacts with your flash of light to reduce mana cost or generate holy power. Both have good synergy in terms of which you decide to use HL or FOL.
I assume you are using a melee build which is great for 5mans, but there is also another efficient albeit lower DPS build other there that you may or may not enjoy.
It’s the caster Paladin build. To use this build you will need to stack crit, you will need to pick the following nodes:
Inflorescence of the Sunwell
Imbued Infusions
Tower of Radiance
Divine Revelations
Commanding Light for
Bestow Faith
Double beacon (for raiding)
You can test this build, you will find you will be using FOL, FOL, HS, (Spender), FOL rinse and repeat. And you always have the option of running into melee to hit the boss a couple of times in your downtime.
That said a lot of M+ players don’t like this build as they believe it is sub-optimal, but hey whatever floats your boat, until the game is released officially and numbers adjusted prior to first raid, everything is an experiment.
I would also recommend you visit the Hammer of Wrath Discord for further guidance, advice and inspiration.
