You’re getting Amani customization options.
Which is actually better than adding just another race, imo.
I wish they’d gone that route with races like mechagnomes, Mag’har and such.

they are different enought that it justifies its own race really.
I’m not sure to what extend the customization options will be.
If you even get the new body type and such, that’d be awesome.
But they could just be talking noses, hairstyles… beards! 
We’ll have to wait and see.
I want forest trolls as a real race. They were the OG Orcs back in WC2.

Since we’re getting customization I really doubt they’ll be playable on their own.

That kind of talk makes you sound like one of those people who keep being hopeful they’ll get high elves. 
they literally got a whole new skeleton to get away from their old 2 pixel models. It would be a waste not to open these options to normal players.
Ion commented on exactly that kind of thing in their Q&A yesterday.
Adding new models/skeletons for new races is a LOT of work for a LOT of devs. He explained that it’s not just those models; it also requires making sure EVERY APPLICABLE PIECE OF ARMOR from the history of the game now fits that model too.
And I get where they’re coming from.
I would like lots of races with lots of different body shapes, but yeah; it’s an enormous mountain of work for them to implement.
