Ambient Occlusion Type - FidelityFX CACAO for Classic WOTLK

Is it possible to enable this setting in classic WOTLK? Unfortunately, I’m unable to play the game without it on due to severe eye strain. I was wondering if I could modify the settings somehow.

I’m also adding a forum post that helped me figure out the link between astigmatism and this setting.

Don’t mind the edits :’)

Anyway, the only thing that comes to mind about ambient occlusion is reshade and game filter. I don’t know what wow’s relationship is with reshade and whether it’s against the rules so I don’t 100% recommend that.
If you have an nvidia card(I haven’t had an AMD in years and don’t know if they have such software) they should have a list of options that may or may not help you.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my query. I appreciate it. I don’t know enough about the nature of the problem to know what would resolve it except for the fact that the FidelityFX CACAO setting works and that I too have astigmatism. I have not been able to play WoW consistently for the past 10 years due to the nature of this problem.

My GPU is a 1660 SUPER so I assume I could try playing around with some settings.

Well, to help you start: You access these settings by making sure you have geforce experience installed. In there you’ll want to open the settings. Top right, to the left of your name, scroll down to in-game overlay and enable it if you haven’t. The app also displays the keybind by default to enable the ui ingame. Once that’s out of the way you can open the game, use the hotkey and click on game filter. Also, the filter itself has a hotkey, but I’m not sure if i changed it. It’s alt-f3 for me but it can’t promise it’ll work because, as i said i’m not sure if i changed it.

Be careful using reshade, people have been permanently banned for using it.

Precisely why I said i don’t recommend it as I don’t know if it works and I myself would not try unless I’m completely sure it’s against the rules.

I managed to get game filters working with GeForce experience. I’m not sure if it’ll work the same way as FidelityFX but its worth a try.

Unfortunately, changing the sharpness did not affect my eyestrain and headaches :frowning:

There were multiple filters is what i said

If you checked my edits they were about sharpness because the names of the sharpness type and ambient occlusion are really similiar. So I got confused myself and had to rewrite the whole thing to not cause a misunderstanding
