I’ve encountered a persistent issue while using my AMD GPU (Radeon 7900 XTX) with the following graphical settings:
Anti-Aliasing
Image-Based Techniques
Multisample Techniques
Multisample Alpha-Test
Whenever these settings are used, the game crashes, and the GPU driver also fails.
The only solution I’ve found to continue using DX12 (for better FPS and a smoother gaming experience) is to disable these settings entirely. Once I turned this off, the game stopped crashing and became stable.
For over six months, I’ve repeatedly reported this issue to Blizzard, sending detailed crash reports and including this discovery. I’ve also reported it to AMD, but no updates or fixes have been provided from either side.
I’m sharing this here in case anyone else is struggling with the same problem. Hopefully, disabling these settings will also resolve the issue for you.
Additionally, I reached out to Blizzard’s technical support, and while they eventually thanked me for my feedback, I had to deal with their bot three times before getting a proper response. The bot pretended to be a GM, as if a real person was replying, but it was blatantly obvious from the generic responses that it had no idea what I was writing about. Instead of addressing my issue, it kept trying to redirect me to their FAQ page, which was full of useless and irrelevant information. It felt like they were more focused on deflecting the issue than actually helping resolve it. The entire experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
