AMD FreeSync

Hello dear forum users!

Tell me please, does AMD FreeSync work well in WoW Bfa? If you have problems, share which ones?
I apologize for the errors, I write through Google translator. Many thanks for the replies.
Hi,

I have a new computer with RX580 and one monitor with 144hz and freesync. I had to disable this function because, yesterday in Uldir I loose the image every 5 seconds. The monitor goes to black and then re-sync again.

If someone knows how to solve it, please comment.

Thanks!
Blizzard engine is AMD unfriendly, not optimised for Ryzen or any AMD video. In future will be nice to see some love from Blizzard to AMD, not only nvidia, intel... :/

I have AMD CPU (Ryzen 2700X) and GPU (Vega 64), it works very well in WoW for me. I have working Freesync (on 160hz monitor) , even on BfA lauch everything just worked. I felt sorry for Nvidia owners whining about gsync not working and fps loss due to windowed full screen mode.

One thing I would recommend for Ryzen owners - use cpu affinity mask to limit WoW process to 4 specific cores on the same one CCX module (you can google how to do it). It gives about 5fps more in Boralus harbor, I got from average 40 to 45fps in there, while in crowded Tradewinds Market (this is my worst known case fps-wise). With Freesync, even 45fps fells “smooth”, only somewhat less responsive than with higher fps.

Few days ago I enabled Precision Boost Overdrive in BIOS and in Ryzen Master software, and it netted me in another 5fps in the same scenario as above.

My only non-maxed graphic settings are (they help in CPU bound places):

  • view distance = 8
  • environment detail = 7
  • liquid detail = high (no real reflections)

In open world (in bfa zones) I have anything from 60 up to 160 fps, on world bosses raids usually I am in 40-60fps range.

Have you tried using freesync in any other games or just wow? try doing a clean driver install see if that helps any
