An idea for a warrior rune

I don’t even play warrior, but this just popped into my head, and figured I’d share.

A warrior rune that makes any ability used when not in combat give rage to the warrior equivalent to its rage cost. So while in combat, warrior abilities cost rage, out of combat they build rage.

It would probably mean that warriors would be running around with full rage all the time when out of combat. Which is why there would have to be another component of this rune.
Having rage outside of combat gives you a debuff that stacks over time. Walking around in a rage is hazardous to yer health, after all, and so as the stacks build they decrease the warrior’s stamina, and when they reach max stacks the warrior dies of a heart attack.
The debuff disappears the instant you enter combat. Dropping rage outside of combat to 0 also clears the debuff.

I think this might be fun. You could run into a pumped up warrior with enough rage to 2 shot you, but if you manage to attack before he enters combat you will 1 shot him. It would be a blessing for warriors in raids if they could just pump up their rage like that.

Just call it Controlled Aggression

When standing still the warrior generations 5 rage per second but is blinded by rage increasing damage taken by a % per 5 rage gained but also increases damage dealt by a %, may it be 2.5% 5% 10% etc

When moving/charging it decreases twice as fast so a small window of initial burst but a good starter for continous rage

It makes it a risk/reward rune, but playstyle could be fun! You could also juggle it by moving do avoid to much of an increase if the situation calls for it

Also you have to obviously be standing, sitting and eating cancels it or atleast pauses it to avoid being at 100% damage taken all the time

More like controlled boredom ,the standing still part is really off putting and the increased %dmg taken is a death sentence

Maybe just generate 5 rage/s when out of combat but when in combat this rage slowly decays ,say you generated 100 rage via this rune so when you enter combat you get a debuff loses 5 rage/s until you lose 100 rage or used 100 rage

Ofcourse standing still is not what any melee wants, depends on how it would work in practise, if you are out of combat that would lead to 100% all the time with max buff/debuff

It wont affect your natural rage gain, only debuff/buff! Or as you say you generate 100 rage with the rune, but wouldn’t that bottleneck your rage or feel clunky if the debuff decreases rage to 0 and restarts mid fight?

if we increase it then for fluiditity and remove debuff/buffs so you increase rage by 5 moving out of combat, 15 standing still

So essentially, the rune starts you with 100 rage more or less

If a buff or debuff is needed for balance so be it

Doesn’t really matter how it happends but what i’m after is more rage for warrior with rune!
