Sometimes people say to go Ancient Artifact before gates open in Ashran. Just wondering how they know it’s up. Do they see it on the map? Also, does it still spawn in different locations? I’ve only noticed it at Ogre King.
You can tell if the AA is up by checking the map.
It displays a skull icon at the ring of conquest in the west.
The icon for the ogre king is the same. You can tell which is which by checking the location. If its in the west at ring of conquest, it’s the AA. If it’s in the east, it’s Kor’lok.
It only spawns in the west at ring.
The icon you saw at ogre is the same and indicates that Kor’lok was up.
Ok thanks. It says that AA spawns in various locations in guides though. has this now changed?
That is true of Classic Ashran. Classic Ashran is now only a Brawl which comes up once a while in the Brawl rotation and you queue for it separately. Classic Ashran also has four events in the corner of the map and never ends, you just leave when you are done. In Classic Ashran AA spawns all over the map.
If you queue for an Epic BG, then you can also get Ashran but it is a different version. There are no events, AA only spawns in the ring to the west and the game ends when either the end boss of a team is killed or a teams resources reach 0.
Ah sweet. Nice, clear answer to my second question.
