And again, who got beta access?

Who told you that’s the only goal? Are you perchance a senior marketing strategist at Blizzard?

Beta tests are, and have been for over a decade now, primarily been a tool fpr advertising. Ofc they invite people who generate advalue for them.

I don’t care for classic anymore, I never played it in 06 and It was a mehish experience for me, I’m not overly keen on retail cause I’m completely out of touch with it, so I’ve been waiting for this for a long time. TBC/Wrath was a good part of my childhood and something I really WANT. I re-new’d sub and was half hoping/expecting to get a beta invite (got one for cataclysm back in 2010) but alas no luck and i’m just going to cancel sub until i finally get my drana hooves on it :[

I don’t think Streamers should get preferential treatment at all… they’re obnoxiously stupid when it comes to trying to influence the game. I remember when Classic was in Beta and these same high profile streamers were praising Leeway/Batching. These people are complete idiots and should have no bearing on any games development ever.

The important question is, when TBC will be launched.
I lured my buddy (TBC fan), to play Classic with me, saying that TBC is launching on May, and that he should be ready by then.

Who said that?
If they wanted to advertise it, they could offer a demo, not a beta.
Betas are meant for bug testing.

They could but they don’t.
How they advertise is up to them.

They are as much a marketing strategy as they are for testing the tech.

We will never get a beta invite, nor anything that we want will be taken into consideration for Actilizard.

Their insatiable greed is beyond any logical explanation at this point and they are into such a frenzy that they can’t see anything other than money in short term.

I lost all hope with blizzard, TBC classic microtransactions put the last nail in the coffin for me. I think it’s time to just leave at this point.

(not writing this cuz I’m mad about not getting beta access, its the least of my concerns compared to paid boosts, shop mounts etc. being added to TBCC)

Only beta I participated in was in mop.
Ahh, good old overscaled sp green wand…

This is the marketing portion of the beta, not the testing portion kekW.

I’m almost convinced that’s why people on the forums defend MTX.

Imagine; KARGOZ didn’t get a beta access but some shill breast streamers with 1/10 of his viewer counts got beta accesses.
He has more educational videos/guides than most of these breast streamers’ total followers on his channel!

Coincidence? Me thinks not.

Wonder what marketing it is when half of the game is full of bug.

From what local Polish streamer/content creator was saying recently only a small core group was invited - those that get Blizzcon invites and so on. He was on Classic early beta, extra Blizzcon access when it was on-site and so on. Kargoz is to “fresh” to be on that internal Blizzard list (and reason why typical retail players are in Beta). Soon there will be more invites, not limited to the special list.

What? Kargoz is new? His earlier wow videos date back to 10 years ago and he has been regularly making wow content for last 6 years, podcasts and so on.

What kind of an “internal list” is that? Do they update it like once every 15 years?

edit: checked again, defcamp and melderon actually did get access.

There is a lot of creators that are not on the list. Those that are you can see on older Blizzcons - having extra access or being invited to Blizzard to make interviews about Classic and so on  There are no “normal” rules, just how some Blizz PR sees fit. Tips showed up out of nowhere and he got there super quickly.

but you have to opt in to playing the beta. If you had no intention of playing it, why sign up? Why take the place of someone who would use it?

Why are you all so mad and salty? Its a good move to give access to streamers that can advertise game to others than to some randoms. Yea cuz thats what we are randoms. You can tell yourself that you are loyal to the game etc etc but it doesnt realy matter if blizzards main goal is to lure as many ppl as they can. Streamers are used here for betatesting and advertisement, while all we could be doing is just betatesting. I know each country has different way to day this but it was obvious choice to shoot 2 ducks with 1 bullet.

And you are even calling them names? Just because you are mad and and dont like them? How pathetic is that. Like it was up to them that blizz gave them keys.

And even tho you discovered not all streamers got keys (huhu we have some rng in here so now not ALL streamers get keys) you switched your mindset to “streamers that i like didnt get keys and streamers that i dont like did so its unfair”. Bigbrain.

Because instead of actual testing they gave a portion of the limited access to streamers.

And then when the game hits live it’s full of bugs because, guess what, there was little testing done.

It will be more buggs reported by streamer and their viewers than it would ever be with giving test keys to randoms. Your point doesnt make sense.

Even if we were counting each streamer as 1 person without his viewers reporting bugs it would still be the same ammount of keys to give away which would result in same ammount of reports.

How? The viewers don’t have beta access, so they cannot report the bug.
The streamer also doesn’t have a set amount of time to play Beta as a passionate player would.

Except the last time streamers got classic beta it was a case of “yeah, nostalgia. moving on”.
