And to no-one's surprise, ears remain event-locked

So this is probably going to be a yearly thing seeing how it is.

In a game with:

  • pirate hats
  • wearing a cage on your head
  • gnomish mind control caps
  • engineering goggles and other silly glasses
  • flower crowns and off hands
  • ear warmers (added in df)
  • C A N D L E
  • wearing nothing but underwear
  • yeti suit (20$ is 20$ i guess?)
  • witch hats that sit about 20cm too high on your head
  • the pink party hat
  • fish as weapons
  • plank with a nail on it
  • wine glass and oversized fork
  • lazer swords
  • various farm implements
  • santa hats

How is it still possible that the line is drawn at bunny ears?

even if you want to argue they are too representative of an irl religion, i am amazed that the line can be drawn here, when like half the alliance zones have churches in them.
Like sure lets have these very clearly christian-inspired churches, but the line that can’t be… crossed
… is bunny ears and pumpkins?

CONCLUSION: All these other items should also be restricted, as this is a very serious game about uhhh… gnomes and stuff?

Bunny ears don’t represent Christianity at all- it’s just a non religious cultural part of Easter. There weren’t any bunnies at the Resurrection:)

I do hope to see ALL the restrictions removed at some point. It really makes NO sense to have all sorts of other silly items equipable but not all.

Agreed, this should be locked to only be usable on the birthday of your character so you can celebrate it for real.

bunnies are actually pagan stuff kinda like christmas trees are from Yule tide

There wasn’t even a resurrection.
At best, if accounts are somewhat true, his body just got stolen.

But not by bunnies.

I mean, Pirates have a pretty solid position in the game since Vanilla. Bloodsail Buccaneers my friend.

I’m sure it’s not unheard of in the Torture Chambers of the Stockades.

Gnomish Engineering has a pretty solid place in the game since Vanilla.

Engineering is a profession in the game and has been since Vanilla.

It’s not unheard of to go out into the Garden and pick some flowers.

It’s cold in the Azure Span.

You no take Candle!!!

Has been part of the game since Vanilla. It’s helps the Kobold seen underground.

Sure, if you want to get one shot.

It was some Blizzcon promo item, so was probably a lot more expensive than that.

Still I’m not a huge fan of it in the game. But it was a promo item and it’s gone now. Not going to see many more of those.

Witches and Wizards make sense.

What’s wrong with throwing a party?

Well there are still Fish Weapons from Vanilla that remain untransmoggable, as Blizzard didn’t want transmogs to be silly when they first introduced it.

However that Fish from BFA has gotta hurt!

A weapon, is it not?

Do you eat with your hands?

We’re on a world of Magic after all.

In the game since Vanilla. I mean, it makes sense to have these in the game since there are so many farms around.

Ever been to Westfall?

Locked away to Christmas.

Well that’s because all of the above, except the Yeti promotion item (and yes okay, the fish weapon is borderline), have a place in the game that makes sense.

Bunny ears are just a silly item used to celebrate the in-game Easter event. Whilst it’s okay for wow to have questionable stuff, there is no need to have it become outright stupid.

If you really need to use them for some RP event, just keep hold of them and put them on as and when is needed. But outside of that, keep transmogging it as something to look forward to.

You No Take C A N D L E !

Seasonal mog restrictions are a pointless overegulation.

I think the rose in the mouth is also getting the bunny ears treatment.
Why cant we be Flamengo dancing Spaniards all year?

But it makes no sense fighting a giant dragon with a shovel. So we better remove shovels then.

Same as above.

Party hats are associated with birthdays meaning we should only be able to mog them once a year.

Can mog everything hidden but pants and just remove them, you won’t get oneshot and will still be super tanky. Makes no sense, better remove transmog all together.

Doesn’t help protect you against a swing from a giant the same way a helmet does, remove candle now.

Which in Sweden at least has links to a holiday so better remove it.

Sorry for your poor attempt at making a response.

Still makes more sense the bunny ears.

Whilst a shovel might not win a battle against a dragon, it might be the only thing to have to hand to defend yourself.

Yeh I mean, I have been pretty outspoken in the past about these mogs.

I’d rather they put restrictions on things like this.

So we have to have all our birthdays on 1 day?

Still party hats can be easily crafted by tailors. They’re nothing out of the ordinary.

If someone wants to RP as a Kobold, that’s up to them.

Atleast Kobolds have something to do with the game. Where as fake bunny ears are just ridiculous.

Sure if you want to remove flowers from the game. Feel free. Makes no difference to me.

But it would still make far more sense having flowers and headdresses in the game, than Bunny ears.

QFT :point_up_2:t3:

Some lads goes out on the tear with his mates, :poop: goes down and he doesn’t rise again til two days later.

His muckers think this is fantastic and start genetically manipulating the wildlife until spring rabbits lay chocolate eggs and reasonable retail value.

I am sooo glad flower crowns are all year, otherwise very few of my characters would wear helms. Too many of them hide the face, cause a magic haircut, don’t fit, look awful or still smell from the previous owner.

I find it amusing when people try and justify with all seriousness an ‘evidence based’ approach to limiting bunny ears transmog, rather than simply expressing a personal dislike for them and leaving it at that.

I’d love more items become available for transmogrification, even if I’m not wearing none of them myself. But I feel like Blizzard isn’t drawing any line at bunny ears, they just don’t care about them, or too busy currently, or simply forgot. They’ve been on a good track with white/grey items transmogs already.

Yet it’s okay for OP to make a list of items which have a justifiable place in the game. And nobody is allowed to point out how Bunny Ears has no place on that list.?

Bunny ears are serious business!!!

Allright so i know i formatted this to be a hate thread, and that is what it is as well, but ill adress at least the main? counterpoint:

  • They do not have a pre-existing place in game, therefore should not be useable as mog year-round

The reason why this point doesnt really justify anything imo, is that this would be against adding most anything, if it hasnt been in the game “since vanilla”

  • For example: Doesnt matter that i think tauren shouldnt be rogues, gameplay comes first.
  • Orc priests have no place in previous lore. Still added.
  • oh and alliance shamans? anyone? not been in the game since vanilla im pretty sure

+ noblegarden, you know, the canon reason for the existence of bunny ears is, quite literally, in the game. Some reasons that one might want to use ears year-round:
- druids: can already turn into animals, why not be allowed to wear ears?
- mages: can already turn people into bunnies year-round, why not also be able to wear ears?
- death knights and forsaken: life death’s already depressing enough, at least let them enjoy something for once?
those are at least some of the ones i could come up with on the spot

(nitpick: problem with witch hats isnt that they exist, its that their model is placed wrong, and looks stupid because of it)

Source???

I’ll get my coat.
