As you can see on this pretty image, second line from the bottom, 257k Mortal Strike.
Further inspection of the screenshot:
- I am obviously in a 3v3 group, chat reactions to the MS hit are obvious.
- As typed in chat my Druid used ironbark just before I died. This is confirmed by Details, 7th line from the top, I get Ironbark 1.5s before I die, and I am at 96% health at this point and in a Stormbolt (the Ironbark line on details got placed above it’s chronological order, don’t ask me why, look at time).
- The Stormbolt lands 1.6s before I die, 96% HP by the way.
- Spear 0.5s before I die, 66% HP by the way, at this point the Warrior walks back to hit me with the infamous Charge Mortal Strike combo while I can’t move.
- Still 66% HP, Charge Bladestorm@MS, dead (8th from the bottom and below).
- 2nd and 3rd from the bottom is the VERY CLEAR 257K Critical Strike WITH IRONBARK UP, as shown by 2).
Why didn’t I die and died to Bladestorm instead ? Because the hit would have killed me and so triggered my Cheat Death. All of this checks out mathematically quite well too. You see that I am 54% HP when the MS hits, my Cheat Death heals me for 85k on a 257k hit which means I would actually have taken 257k damage, and the Cheat Death negated 85k of that to block my health on 7% instead of having me killed. That means 172k were removed from my health to get me from 54% to 7%, so, again, it checks out given how much max health we have. And then I die anyway because well, Arms damage.
And there you have it. 257K Mortal Strike Critical Strike, through Ironbark even. Feel free to inspect the armory of my character on the screenshot and you will see I have almost full gear, so don’t try the “must have been a low versa target”.
The lot of you who keep whining with the usual “nooooo it’s impossible because I can’t do it” are actually pathetic.
As for mister Thomasman, what you say mostly makes sense, but as was said it’s normal for Arms to be weak to casters. Right now it destroys everything else. But yeah, in a game where there is Frost Mage Demo, you do nothing, such is being countered. Your point tho where you claim every melee can kite Arms though is actually a lie and I am fairly sure you know it. Few melees can actually kite Arms. For instance as Assa (since I play that) I can’t kite much on my own. The Warrior has an equal amount of mobility spells WITH A SHORTER CD than mine. And he can have more too. 2x step ? 2x charge, shorter CD. Sprint, without freedom as you need disarm into Arms ? Doesn’t help sinceyou are slowed, and he has leap on a shorter CD to catch up. Then there is the Spear which cannot be cloaked anymore as well. And a ranged stun in case you do manage to get away, so you can’t move until he reaches. It’s just a numbers game. Right now Arms win it there. Of course, if I have a caster with me who helps a lot, then I could kite, but then it’s not the Assa kiting Arms, it’s the caster keeping the Warrior from touching his Rogue. And so if you really want to account for the caster helping the melee escape big bad warrior then the Warrior can have a teammate too. Ret for freedom, DK for grip and more slow…
Definitely, few melees can kite Arms. That’s just how it is. Doesn’t take a genius to open the tree and look at what gives mobility vs what others have.
