3s should always be more rewarding than shuffle because itâs peak arena gameplay. Itâs the same reason as why Mythic raiding is more rewarding than LFR even if way less people play it.
This is an MMORPG, organized gamemodes with groups (rbg, arena, normal-mythic raids, mythic dungeons, âŚ) will always be more rewarding than the solo modes (shuffle, rdf, lfr) because the game is designed in its roots to be played and to group up with other people.
Also 2s is less rewarding than both 3s and shuffle (no legend/gladiator) which is fine imo. 2s is a less stressful beginner bracket to get into arena.
You mean the same way Blizz been kneecapping arena ratings in 2s & 3s since SL S3, doing considerable damage to both these brackets?
Never said anything like that. Iâm saying that they should make all brackets rewarding cause rn none of them are.
You cant compare shuffle to LFR and 3s to mythic raiding. In any PvP enviroment competitiveness is simply determined by how much competition you have in the first place. If you´re the worlds best at something but there is only 3 participants its not all that impressive afterall. There is a reason soloq is the most competitive gamemode in every single PvP oriented game around. Now WoW will never reach that level no matter what they do because the skill expression in WoW is simply far too low.
Forcing people to partake in 3v3 n more specificly, LFG is an abyssmal concept to begin with. If you want 3s to be competitive, leave it completely 100% untouched and readd % based titles. That way they can stop with the aritficial inflation n deflation n its simply going to be based around participation. With how WoW balancing is paired with certain comps there is no âpeak arenaâ, people abuse what is op n in 3s they´ll abuse whatever comp is op ontop of that. Shuffle atleast forces people to adapt. Anything that crushes meta comps as a concept is a win to me.
Sorry for late reply, been busy with work. In what way has 2s n 3s been kneecapped by blizzard? Shuffle is artificially kneecapped, 2s n 3s has not recived that treatment. The deflation in those brackets is simply based on having barely a fraction of the player participation.
Forcing people to partake in a gamemode they dont enjoy in order to inflate the bracket for the 5% of the playerbase that does enjoy it n wants to stare at a certain number that makes them happy n tingely is a terrible direction to bring the game. Leave the brackets untouched, readd % based titles n call it a day. Keep gladiator n mount exclusive to 3s, i couldnt care less personally. With % based rewards 3s R1 could be 1500 rating n it wouldnt make a difference, thats what people want no? rewards based on actual performance n competitiveness? or does the 3s community just want the huge majority of the playerbase to be forced back into a gamemode they dont enjoy so they can farm their LFG teams n inflate the rating for easier rewards?
Blizzard killed 2s/3s/rbg MMR after SL S2 2v2 ratings went up to 3400+ and 3v3 even went higher than 3800 and with that they artificially lowered participation by a lot.
Itâs quite literally 1:1 the same thing they did to shuffle this ssn, just happened a few seasons prior, which kinda makes it worse because they did the same mistake twice now, leading to the same outcome.
Yes, although SL S2 isnt the only giga inflated season its the most noticable one that caused major issues. Essentially they added artificial inflation which caused tons of people to partake to scoop up the free rating which further skyrocketed the inflation to absurd levels.
The entire rating system as a whole needs a massive rework in the first place as its never worked all that well. The only good feature of S2 DF so far is that they only did a soft reset on mmr. If the participation was higher that should´ve always been the norm as opposed to a complete wipe. Problem is that WoW doesnt have enough active PvP players to implement a system like that for 2s n 3s.
The main issue when it comes to achivement based on rating is that it matters to an absurd degree when the achivement was obtained. S2 gladiator was by player base % equal to roughly rival in a normal season.
The issue is that there is no solution to that problem. If you want 2s n 3s inflation simular to SL S2 then we might aswell move the mounts over to solo shuffle aswell since glad would at that point be considerably easier than elite in shuffle is now.
See there is no simple fix though, make all titles % based and add rating decay? the entire season will be inactive intill the end of the season where people just snipe rewards. WoW just needs more active rewards that encourages actual participation. I did grind out the enchant early this season because it looked awesome in the reveal but ended up looking crap ingame n there are no more rewards i care about this season.
So how would you fix 2s, 3s n soloq then if you had free hands at it? To me WoW arena just isnt fun enough to grind endlessly, i enjoy shuffle more because it mixes n matches the teamcomps none stop so it feels alot more refreshing where as i find it absurdly repetitive to play the same comp endlessly, even with freinds i lose interest quickly.
