DF is generally a good expac, BUT incompetent game design killed PvP:
First Season they ruin 3/4 brackets by making only 1 bracket worth queueing up for. They realize their mistake, promise to do a better job next season and then they go on to kill the last viable bracket, instead of reviving the other 3???
Weekly +15 MMR inflation is an absolute joke.
Class balance is really inconsistent. Some classes are way too op for way too long, while others are staying trashed for forever.
Complete meta shifts towards mid/end of season make it hard to predict anything and make it impossible to keep playing with the same players because you start out playing S-Tier comp and then 2 months down the line it’s suddenly C-Tier and now you gotta find new teammates, but pvp is dead, so there is no other ppl to play with, so instead you end up not being able to play and therefore kinda taking a break from the game I guess, since there is nothing to do…
Solo Shuffle being forced upon us, by killing other brackets, but at the same time completely bullying healers (a rare species by default) out of it, due to unreasonable rating/MMR system regarding healer role, inflating queue times beyond reason, making solo shuffle inaccessible for many and unbearable for most.
Abysmal conquest gains for the 1 viable bracket, sitting 20mins queue, getting ~100 conquest on average in 35 mins (consisting of only 15 mins of actual gameplay).
In the past they would say the PvE team is blocking meaningful change regarding PvP class balance and changes have to go through too many instances, before being applied, therefore the slow response.
My question is, is the PvE team blocking you guys from fixing MMR and inflating more than +15 every week? Are they not allowing you to implement adequate rewards for people to queue up? Are they trying to kill shuffle by bullying people out of the healer role, therefore inflating queue times beyond reason and making people quit?
There is no logical explanation for any of this. Class balance aside, these are easy fixes, that don’t require a team of 20 people to design and implement.
Profit >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Effort/Ressources
Not adressing this is neither smart, nor can it be part of a grand plan. It’s just sheer incompetence. I don’t want to bully anyone and I’m sorry to say this, but you guys are just objectively incompetent. Do you have no pride in your work and the product you push out? They need to start firing people and hire new ones. These people are not doing their jobs and eventhough their salary might be sh*t, it’s still too much for the “work” they do. It’s an absolute joke.
What frustrates me the most is how good the base is, how much potential I can see and how little stands between a good experience and whatever this is. It could have been such a great expac, but it’s just being wasted. But dw, next expac will fix it, am I right?
i still ahrdly consider mage reworked, it hardly changed, both frost and fire are almost identical, and arcane is literally identical, idk why they called it rework…
I remember them saying class balancing will not be done in such drastic ways, yet here we go again with +50% or + 30% buffs or -50% nerfs. That should NEVER happen in a game this old, it means you are a complete failure at balancing. Balancing should only be done in small increments, like 4-8% damage increase/nerfs, then wait a week, see how it goes, and make further adjustments if needed. The moment you buff some classes abilities by +30%, you must buff all other classes defensives by a similar large amount. Then you must buff other classes damage again, its a never ending circus.
They must completely abandon this “full rework” bs, and start doing real balancing. More frequent, and more calculated.
Because they added options they didnt have while also buffing them.
A rework does not technically mean they have to change the entire spec.
They also said they wanted to tune the spike dmg down, not making specs crit so high and thats why they made crit go from 175% to 150% again.
But, oh wait, they just buffed specs so they crit even higher than before? Who could have thought that was good
Basically they keep saying one thing but make another direction all the time. Its insanely annoying since it just feels like next patch will be a repeat with something completely busted again considering they are saying they are doing a rogue rework for example.
a massive buff to some abilities and nerfs to others sometimes means a rework. as it completely changes the gameplay, DK for example, before the meta was spread Dot damage, then for a short time Pet damage with burst windows, now it’s completely ST main attacks sustain damage, with festering popping etc. and it plays completely different. If you buff something by 100-300%, it will of course completely alter a class/spec.
they got displacement and shimmer reset from alter now, as melee u cant even get a single global vs good mages and fighting frost mages in any 1v1 situation is not fair by a mile removing rune of power allows mages to use their alrdy overtuned cc kit to the fullest and u basicly cant touch them
You literally wrote everything I feel and I would write myself. Personally I lost all my motivation, passion and everything that goes with it, I remember getting so frustrated playing solo shuffle my head wanted to explode, now I log rarely, I do random things I log off, even if I do rated pvp/solo I’m completely calm, because I dont care any more about this game, because devs and people in charge of this game dont care about us ppl who are playing this game over 15 years, the core base, so it’s whatever i don’t care about this point, I even lost interested in WoW Lore, it was godlike now its pure trash, from Wc3 to this…
thats true but if mages mobility stays like this, say hello to melee getting more cc/gapclosers
frost mage in the first place was the reason war was given more mobility now imagine the pain for sps if this happens xdd
alrdy seen posts on us forum of wars complaining about this and blizzard tends to listen to wars
i said they got diplacement and alter resetting blink
before you couldnt take dragons breath + displacement while having that 6s time warp thing and 2x frost novas if im not mistaken
my point is we get zero globals as melee on mages now
then u should say they can take the 2 nova, because db and displacement were literally 2 points 1 to the other, u could not take shifting power thats for sure, it was left side capstone, and it was moved on rune of power, which is fair i guess, not am huge fan of shifting myself
I kind of like wow pvp overall, but I think personally that arena 3v3 as a game mode should not be the end all be all for wow pvp, because I think it’s the least fun version if wow pvp… Especially requiring premades in a game mode full of ego-driven toxic boomers is a bad idea. That’s why soloqueue probably got introduced. I think BGs are more fun to play, but I don’t play them, because I don’t rly enjoy playing with 10 people on discord. Random BGs are fun too, but they have no real rewards in the end, and I think raiders also wouldn’t raid for 200 flight stones and 3 wyrm crest fragments. I tried, but I just don’t like the dynamic of following some leader on discord, while I wanna play a video game. I would only play premades with friends that I enjoy talking to, but not with some random tryhard wow players.
Honestly, you people may laugh at me for this suggestion, but I really think they should lower the ties between rating and reward and instead introduce some sort of seasonal pvp battlepass as a renown track that is very grindy and rewards stuff like old elite tier sets, old gladiator mount, etc. You might think I’m a zoomer for this suggestion, because it challenges the elite-mindset, but in the end, it’s a mmorpg, and I think the esports mentality surrounding pvp is killing it, because wow pvp is one of the worst esports I know. I think making it grindy and more fun is the better approach, similar to classic wow, and skill should be something respected by the community, but not the only way to get rewarded for playing. Introducing Epic BGs, new BGs in general, and soloqueue RBG seems sensible in the end. People should also be able to fully gear conquest from non-rated content, so farming gear and then jumping into shuffle, would make the experience better. That’s the only reason why people care about inflation: If you don’t improve rating, wow pvp has 0 rewards and 0 reasons to play.
If every Arena maining-player had a full friendlist of people who will whisper them as they log in to queue up with everybody being ready, nobody would queue Solo Shuffle.
Why would you? In premade you’re playing with classes that go well with your classes, and if it is people you’ve played for a while with, all the better.
But reaching that stage is difficult in this game. Bad class balancing, lack of inflation, lack of quality of life changes (such as having no conquest cap at the start of the season, gaining more conquest per win), all contribute to the problem.
And then you get the human barrier which are delusional elitist jerks who have the same rating as you, but got 2800 rating over 7 years ago during a patch their class was broken and now they think they’re much better than everyone else.
But making friends in this game isn’t hard. You just have to add people who you enjoyed to play with and then ask them to play. Easiest time to make friends is early season. Play LFG and try to play as good as you can. If you impress some people then they’d like to play with you. Later in the season it’s harder as people play their alts and even if you enjoy playing together they might have less time to play than the main team.
Also most of the times I prefer playing with someone new but talented rather than grumpy people looking for achievments at low ratings because 15 years ago they were 2700 in Lich King.
