Another month, another traveller's log done in less than an hour

Where are people yelling it’s the best addition to the game? Even the rewards this month were absolutely underwhelming. A crab recolor and some lame transmog options. meh

It’s not meant as a main feature.
It’s a side thing you passively progress through during the month.

If you choose to grind it on day 1, you do you. But that’s an odd choice considering you fill those bars without even trying by just playing the game like you usually would.

Isn’t it nice you can choose to rush through it like a madman or just chill and let it clock off passively?

If you really want a reward fast or have left it until the last minute then you can still complete it. If you don’t care about rushing and just want to play the game and get the reward, you can do that too.

Last month I really wanted the transmog so somewhat rushed through it, this month I’m not in a hurry and will just get it whenever.

Good for you, here have a pat on the shoulder.

Do you want a gold star too?

It’ll take me a few days to do (took me four days last month). But then I don’t play the game the way you do. This Trading Post isn’t for you alone, it’s for everyone. There are players who only play weekends. Or who don’t do ‘Big 3’ content. Or play in all sorts of ways.

grind? rush like a madman. how is doing a couple pet battles, work orders etc. a grind? xD that’s the best part - to “rush through” you don’t have to sweat it. Just look through the list and pick the fastest - some take literally no time.
Like see - Arthas or Illidan in time rift is like 200 pts alone or so. 3 crests is another freebie.
My point is that Trading Post was advertised as something that was supposed to engage playerbase and many players said this is “the best feature ever in WoW” and it turned out to be something so unimportant, minuscule and do on day 1 and forget with mediocre rewards at best. It’s hilarious - I remember expectations and hype before it launched and now I can’t stop loling at how bad Trading Post is.

It was never meant as a main feature. Some like it. Some dont. Some like the monthly rewards this month, others dont. I dont see the issue at all whatsoever.

I’ve liked quite a few of the items I’ve gotten from the Post. I’ve not bought things every month, last month I got the red cloack, scarf and hood and the white shield. Previous months I didn’t get much, I have around 4,000 Tender just now.

But these are subjective. The months I bought little others will have liked something and bought it.
This is simple straight forward side content. It’s not a grind, its not mandatory, it’s not about power. It’s just one of several small side content activities that there could be more of. The Day Care is another example of good simple side content that gives us something to do. We need more of this,

Its an easy way to get mounts, pets, mogs, etc from previous expansions without putting the grind in. Way i see is, if i see stuff on there that i want then i go for it - if nothing takes mu fancy then i leave it till next month but collect the tendies anyway

You have to go out of your way to clock off all the requirements quickly. I’ve just played may account like usual and clocked off two things so far. Because I’m not trying to complete it fast.

There is nothing wrong with rushing through it but lets be honest about it:-

15 pet battles - not time consuming at ALL - you go to Durotar with 25 lvl pet and one shot 15 creepy crawlers xD

I didnt mean these 2 would get me 1000 but I say activities like these are free and 0-time. 10 orders - 10 serevite bolts from alt - u get 5 personal and 10 overall at once - like 300 points?

If you don’t like this month’s rewards its ok, I liked this month’s pirate swashbuckler set and got it. Just save your tendies for next month?

Why does everything have to be time consuming or important? Traders Post is a perfect addition to the game to give you a little something extra to do mid expansion with some cool rewards.
Im loving all the mini events they are throwing at us, it is keeping things from feeling boring (also loving the fact so much stuff is using the old world and giving major nostalgia vibes).
TBH even when Im finished with the log I still use it as it gives me an idea of what events are going to be happening this month!

“I want the trader post to take me 3 weeks to complete Blizzard ! Give me chores to do I love chores !”

I think the expectation that the Trading Post will generate a lot of content misunderstands what it’s for.

All it is is a way to get some cool extra cosmetic stuff that the art team produced but didn’t find a place in the game to put it, along with some old otherwise unobtainable stuff.

For the most part the activities are designed in a way that regular play will result in you just getting the full amount of tendies without having to think about it, and for people who don’t play so much a bunch of easy fast stuff is added.

And that’s the reason we like it so much! There are plenty of other rewards in the game that require long grinds - extreme RNG or high skill to obtain, if that’s your jam!

So you complain about something that is supposed to be done along normal playing because you no life’d it? Oof.

why is everyone having troubles reading my point so hard.

The issue I’m bringing up is that the hype for the thing was huge and it turned out to be so unimportant and literally consuming no time whatsoever, and yet I still see people saying it’s the best addition to the game that is gonna “solve the dwindling playerbase problem” etc. Trading Post is just garbanzo overall.

I have a couple issues.

  1. Everyone and their mother can complete max tenders and get monthly reward
1a) monthly reward means everyone has it means it’s not interesting at all - nothing to show off - nothing rare or even uncommon. IT’s literally reward welfare for the lazy
  2. rewards are largely recolors of old stuff. I was extremely disappointed when I bought fist weapons in the shape of bear heads just to learn same bear heads of different color can be bought off a vendor for 35 gold. Even this month monthly reward is a crab recolor.
  3. instead of a random rotation of things, they should make it like a stable shop that you can pick items wherever you like instead of this stupid freezing 1 item thing. You want mounts, just collect mounts whenever you get coins. This month no tender coin mount…
  4. If anything, the points should be awarded per difficulty of content you do. Defeating 1 lvl pet battles shouldn’t award same points as winning battles against pet tamers with leggo pets. And yet it does. Same stuff with e.g. creating crests. Whelpling crests should give no points - only aspect crests should grant points for this. Mythic dungeons - only above, say, 10+ - there is still enough “casual andy” points to max out but give people incentive to aim higher instead of rewarding mediocrity and optimization.
  5. I know I would get 1k pts doing usual stuff but at the same time I think - what if, what if I have an accident, get into hospital and can’t complete stuff later? I will miss out on a month! FOMO FOMO. Why not, then, just do everything in 50 minutes and call it a day? err month?

The real reason to keep players subbed so they can get the ‘free’ stuff every month…

Not that this is a bad thing or anything…

I don’t think anyone is misunderstanding your point at all.

We can all see that you would prefer something that’s more meaty and skill based - which means that this is simply content that’s not aimed at your playstyle In the meantime there are plenty who do want casual low effort content to enjoy without having to give a mobile game publisher the equivalent of a small countries entire GDP to access it.

Hopefully you will find plenty of other more skill based content in the game.

Oh and on the point of the marketing - precisely 0 AAA game publisher marketing campaigns have given an accurate impression of their games - so if you want a big game to live up to it’s marketing - I fear you will struggle to enjoy gaming.

Maybe for you but some players work all day and only have an hour or so to play on a weekday. A couple of times I’ve realised there’s about 2 days to go and I really need to get my backside in gear … but most of the time everything gets done by normal playing.
If there was anything to complain about, I’d prefer more mounts, pets, toys and TCG items and less transmog … but that’s just me  Everyone has different ideas of how to do it and what to get.

If you want something challenging for some exclusive rewards, feel free to go and grind out Gladiator, Cutting Edge, Hero of the Horde/Alliance and r1 in M+ instead of crying about something that was never intended to be a grind :+1:
