Until last night you could dual wield Staves with warrior, and after buffing paladins a bit more they decided to nerf warriors more.
And before you go on to argue that Staff is not for warriors, well I’m o shi**y german server, because Blizzard didn’t allow me transfer from Gehennas alliance to any decent alliance server, where is almost impossible to find groups for even a HC + dungeon.
So a staff, [Staff of the Plaguehound] was the only one I could use for my offhand, and now I can’t use it anymore.
Why did they have to do this? Do they really hate warriors so much? They “fixed” a minor dps increase for warriors in a day and went so far to buff retri to make sure warriors stay at a bottom of the dps charts.
It’s super hard to find groups as a warrior for Ulduar 10 man for example, unless you are a tank and they can’t find a Pala, DK or even feral … I don’t understand this?
You can use any weapon as a warrior, why can’t they use any weapon with titans grip as well? where is the logic in this?
In the tooltip of the talent. You should have a read. Also, even when you could use polearms/staves with TG it was bad because whirlwind was using only your mh. One may say that Blizzard saved your dps by fixing this talent.
This isn’t a nerf, it’s a fix. WoTLK’s Titan’s Grip originally only allowed Two-handed swords, maces and axes. Allowing the use of staves and polearms was a MoP thing.
Nope it did not, you could hit with both weapons. They didn’t fix a thing, it’s true that the tooltip said about axes, maces and swords but it wasn’t like this in the begining.
Go and read the initial tooltip of the ability as it was in patch **[Patch 3.0.3]
“Allows you to dual-wield a pair of two-handed weapons. Two-handed weapons deal more damage, and provide more strength and stamina, then one-handed weapons”
I remember it wasn’t like this when it was launched back then, it wasn’t a restriction on the weapons cause it makes no sense at all.
You are so wrong that going forward I will just assume that you are trolling. You can compare logs of warriors dual wielding polearms to those who are using correct weapon setup. Weapon check for WW prevented offhand hits with polearms/staves.
You are literally quoting current retail tooltip of Titan’s Grip. In Wrath weapon types were restricted as in the current tooltip. You can track removal of this limitation to patch 5.4.
Maces, Axes and Swords are the only weapons that should work with Titans Grip in WOTLK, anything else is a bug. Polearms and Staves were bugs.
They did not work correctly with the spec, if you had a staff in your offhand then your whirlwind was only hitting with the mainhand because the game isn’t programmed to work with a staff in the offhand.
Warriors were not nerfed, a bug was fixed where you could equip items that didn’t work properly to begin with.
Wrong, I remember getting flamed during the WOTLK prepatch (as in 2008) for trying to roll on the trash drop Polearm in Sunwell to use with TG, I was flamed because you couldn’t dual-wield Polearms and I didn’t realise this.
You could never dual wield Polearms or Staves during WOTLK, that was added later. Whatever you think you’re reading, by the time this hit live servers it was as it is now. Warriors also had Heroic Leap during PTR, didn’t make it to live. You’re 100% wrong on this one.
Check Changelog and scroll down to the bottom. Before MoP (namely patch 5.0.1) Titan’s Grip did not work with Polearms and Staves and tooltip reflected that.
That’s probably not something you should be daring to ask cause that’d mean they’d have to try to fix whirldwind offhand hits not doing jack with weapons that aren’t intended for TG.
Verstehe ich auch nicht. Der Krieger hat schon genug Nerfs abbekommen. Diese ewige hin und her ist schon lächerlich. B. sollte sich um Wichtigeres kümmern.
