I have a very weird and specific issue I need help with that just started to happen, I’ve basically tried everything under the sun so far to try and fix it with no luck.
For some strange reason, any addon that changes the combat text/damage numbers that my character outputs has suddenly stopped working. But damage that I -take- shows up as it should within the addon settings. I used an addon called Nameplate Scrolling Combat Text, which up until today at complete random whilst in-game in the middle of a fight just flat-out stopped showing all damage that I deal.
I should mention the default Blizzard combat text still shows fine, I re-enabled it via a console command, but that’s the only damage text I can now use. I tried other addons that change the damage text such as Nice Damage, an addon which I used in the past, and even that doesn’t work. It continues to show the regular standard Blizzard default damage numbers, almost like I’m now suddenly not allowed to edit my damage numbers at all.
So far I’ve found that:
- Addons that modify the damage I output with abilities do not show up whatsoever, only the Blizzard default works.
- However if the addon has functionality that allows me to see damage that I take from attacks be it other players or mobs, it works just fine.
I’ve tried repairing the game, turning off all addons but the damage text altering ones, re-installing the addons, and restarting my PC but none of these have worked.
If I had to guess, one of the values for the CVar’s may have changed, but I have absolutely no idea about any of these and wouldn’t know where to start.
I realise this is a long winded post for what amounts to wanting my pretty damage numbers back, but it’s important for me so I can see various damage types and other such things that improve my gameplay. Does anyone have any ideas?
