Being a priest main, it’s quite frustrating to farm the tier-set every new season due to the over popularity of priest shaman and paladin. It really feels like every pug raid roster is 50%+ composed of those 3 classes…
What’s the downside to have straight up 13 classes token ?

The last boss typically drops universal tokens.
Eg.;
You already get catalyst charges every two weeks plus an omni toklen for the HC kill or 2k rating. Since Tier can also drop from the M+ vault even on dungeon slots, its already extremely fast to get 4pc.
Having different tokens encourages ever so slighty to play diverse classes. We don’t need mechanics to change even more towards rewarding FotM play.

…and (almost) the entire raid rolls on that token, and then the complaint will be “How can i win an item if everybody rolls on it?”

it has nothing to do with FOTM. Paladin is the starter class by excellence.
You’d rather go against 12 other classes instead of just 2?

I thought that was Hunter.
Unfortunately, you no longer get an omni-token for that as of this season, but another catalyst charge instead.
It’s the price we pay for having the “freethinker starter package” class paladin be a meta DPS spec with the biggest mouthbreathers being able to play it while drooling all over their keyboard on top of it having good utility. Overloaded class, just like Hunter.

With 4 times as many loot? I guess they would.
Yeah, it’s frustrating, but we have catalyst charges to make up for poor luck, to an extent. I myself got extremely lucky - I got an omnitoken from the guild’s first Gallywix normal kill, and a warbound venerated leg token from LFR. That gave me four set with the catalyst charges from the start of the season and getting KSM.
wich is basicly even better then a Token.
Yeah its not that those classes are way more popular than all the others, you are just joining those groups way more often.
If you are pugging at the start of the season, and you are NOT making your own groups, then you will be joining in a pug where you are a loot body. That means where the leader is avoiding people with his own token, and packing the group with people that do not share a token with him/his friends.
So yeah, make your own groups if you want it to be fair at the start of the season.
you dont seem to have used either catalyst charge you have for tier or have done lfr either reset?
its 2nd reset and unfortunately RNG does play a part (on top of some classes being more popular).
I got 2 pieces on this from pug (normal tokens in first reset) and the 3 hero pieces were catalyst x 2 + vault item. i was definitely very lucky.
Not necessarily, depends entirely on your specific situation.
For example, if you don’t have a heroic item to catalyze, or generally don´t get it until you already have full heroic tier and therefore usually use it to purchase PvP mog, Then its worse, because it´s effectively useless.
Retri is melee, hunter for ranged.
Just save up the veteran, champion, hero and mythic non-tier items, and catalyst it after season end.
Such a wierd change. Surely the token is more use to 99% of the population

Yes and no… It basically depends on when most people get the achieve… If more people tend to get it early on, then the token is absolutely more useful, because it´s less likely that people will already have 4 set much less all 5 pieces.
But on the other hand, if most people get it later (and, just for example, it IS called Ahead of the Curve for a reason
), like after 2-3 months, then many will actually already have their heroic 4 set, and the catalyst charge will be more useful for collecting mog / getting off-set pieces…
And someone pushing hard early, esp in M+, will likely also have picked up a piece somewhere that they can catalyze…
But in the end, only Blizzard knows what the numbers are… again, me personally, I always used them for the PvP shoulders, which I otherwise wouldn´t be able to get (unless I start PvPing again, ofc)… So for me, there´s basically no extra reward at all anymore for getting curve (not that I would actually care one way or the other, but someone else might. )
Fair. Hey I’m not judging people who get aotc later. I’m normally one of them, I was just thinking from the perspective of running keys. I imagine when most people get ksm they’re using a mix of champion and hero gear so a token would most likely be more use then a catalyst charge that may not be useful for a week or two.
