Despite the fact i don’t like DF, hold to cast is one of the best QoL ever added to wow.
As more people playing wow (especially classic) approach 30s, 40s and 50s, hand health is becoming an increasing concern, and playing a caster trying to maximize your casting time is getting really bad for me and i think most of the people on my age range or higher.
This changes the way wotlk is played ofc but this is a health concern. If we can get incubus and fruit baskets, because sexualization in the videogames is a public concern, we SURELY can agree that hand health is a concern not for some but for everybody.

Hm makes sense but maybe there would need to be spells excluded
Nah, that’s just taking the game too far in the direction of Retail.
We don’t need more “QoL” retail features.

hand health is not a “retail” feature. It’s a “don’t have carpian tunnel and suffer” feature. Do you even know what feature i’m talking about?

Don’t care, you people are ruining this game with all these QoL features.
So you don’t know what i’m talking about but somehow you are here stating your opinion like saying “retail” is saying “PLAY WITH FIRE CHILDREN” (and i didn’t even mention retail in the first place lol).
The change is that instead of spamming the spell you need to for your rotation (like frostbolt for frost mages for example) you can just keep the button pressed and it will cast without needing to spam. Literal no gameplay changes besides not needing to smash your fingers into the keyboard.
In fact a lot of people is already doing this via hardware or third party software.
I thought it was to adjust the power of the spell?
Not staying up to date with retail, does this mean you would be able to hold your frostbolt hotkey and it will constantly autocast? Or what does it mean?
Maybe hire someone to play the game for you or watch asmongold on twitch?
basically this
not much difference between pressing 2 200 times or jsut holding it down except for hand health conservation. I don’t know what your comment really means tbh.

Get a macro for it for your keyboard then? Most gamingkeyboards have software for stuff like this already.
the hold to cast “QoL” ur referring to.
is a evoker Mechanic only, not for classes. so no, WoTLK Wont get it as ur not going to get Evoker lol

I suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome (~17 years in front of a computer) and I personally don’t find that feature useful, because you still move your hand to cast something else. Yes, I do play retail and I also tried razer software (making keybind macros - autocast via ‘toggle’), it’s going to happen sooner or later and it will not protect you from it.
Best solution I can provide you is to look for third-party software, for example Razer’s Synapse and Macro functions, it’s what you are looking for.

Am i thinking if the wrong thing?
The hold the button down to charge the ability uptoo 3?
Except it’s not.
But this is some next level demand tho, wanting features that are in retail’s alpha.

If you are too weak to press a button on a keyboard maybe you’re not supposed to be alive, just my 2 cents.
I mean everything was in alpha or PTR some day. They don’t have to add it right now but some day in the future. They already added some other things like raid profiles, colorblind mode, controller support and much more.
I suffer it aswell and playing through DF beta made a big difference, sessions could go as high as 5 or 6 hours without any annoyances; this same amount of time does have a high impact on classic or retail both mele and casters.
so let’s say i lose both hands do i suicide? thanks for your 2 cents next time keep that for yourself lol.

Playing WoW is a recreational activity and also mostly a very easy game. Yet you are asking for Blizzard to make it even easier because pressing a button makes your hand hurt.
What next? Are you on a ventilator right now because breathing is too hard?
