Any info on how the creation Catalyst will work in Season 4?

Not getting my hopes up as there was literally almost nothing until release date with Season 3, but… maybe?

So here’s the thing.

Now there are 4 PvE transmog variations of the tier set, and which one you get depends on the item level of the gear piece you use with the Creation Catalyst.

For example, 265-275 for Heroic and 278 for Mythic.

Now, Season 4 is going to have item level increase. How will it affect these thresholds?
Is it going to be easy from this point on to get the Mythic transmog, as 278 items are going to be easy to get? Or will the whole system switch to the new recolors with the glow effects, and the original ones will become completely unavailable?

It would kinda suck because the acquisition of the 278 items is wholly based on the Great Vault, and I haven’t received a single cloak, so I’m still only at 8/9 with that… There does exist a BoE cloak but it’s 600k gold, so… no thanks.

Curious myself, kinda figured it would automatically increase with the season 4 ilvls.

Only thing I can find is:

  • Your 9.2 Tier Sets are still active in Season 4, and the Creation Catalyst will remain on with all of its accumulated charges. Tier Tokens won’t be added to Castle Nathria and Sanctum of Domination, as you’ll be able to upgrade any item you get to a higher ilvl piece of Tier just like you can on live right now.

Yes, but prob cant further upgrade current items, you need to farm them out again (if there is an ilvl up).

From what I’ve seen, it looks like:

  • Seasons 3 items work the same as before
  • There are no new color variants
  • Season 4 items have similar, but increased level tresholds, for example HC raid item level to mythic+ 12/12 gives you the Heroic set, while the Mythic+15 reward from the vault gives you the Mythic set and so on.

I can’t tell for sure how exactly the itemlevel requirements for normal/heroic/mythic raid set pieces are, but here is what I did:

To test if 278+ itemlevel still gives mythic appearances, I checked with my wrist equipment, which currently is ilvl 285 Fated “Bands of the Fallen House” from KT. I’ve put it in the Catalyst and it would transform into ilvl 285 “Godstalker’s Wristwraps”.
I already have the appearance for that, which means 285 transforms into Normal difficulty appearance, as normal is the only wrist appearance I have right now.

So no, we can’t use low season 4 gear to get the mythic appearance of Sepulcher :frowning:

Yeah we need max item level stuff for the Mythic appearances. But that’s fine, at least they are still available from the catalyst.
