Any other games outside of the MMORPG with the amount of keybind requirements?
Not to this extent, But you can try moba games. For example, i play dota 2, and we got heroes with up to 5~6 keybinds, as well as 6 item slots that depending on you picking an active item, need a keybind, and a tp scroll slot and a neutral item slot.
Plus, you gotta focus on a ton of different stuff, so it’s not going to be easy to learn.
The MMO genre was conceived by programmers for programmers. It was never meant to be so quick.
One of the big problems is that WoW binds everything to a separate key. Many other games use much more extensive skill combinations but bind them to fewer kyes. Street Fighter for example - you have 6 keys just for punching and kicking. Then you have key combinations for different skills, and then on top of that, different combinations for the same skill yield a different result.
On Ret, I have 8 keys that are the core rotation and a few more that are more situational/cds.
Obviously, I have zero problem accessing everything through the keyboard. There’s so many keys on the keyboard, it’s a shame not to use them.
And of course - no issues mapping everything on a controller when I want to be more laid back.
StarCraft however uses the keyboard much more intensively than WoW.
The Typing of the Dead requires you to use all letter keys pretty much. Idk if it’s actually any fun though.
But mmos has less action per min compare to other genres.
You can try writing a novel. The gameplay is varied and requires a lot of skill to master. But it’s relatively easy to start. And you’ll need a lot of keys.
