Any thoughts or hopes Amirdrassil might have for night elves?

I know you are thinking of High Elves now who renamed themselves Blood Elves after loosing Silvermoon. Problem with this is: Blood elves was just a part of WC, Arthas action waa pre WoW. Blood Elves was not a playable race for 4 years after WoW launch and never before. Don’t forget that with Tyrande saved your entire civilization. And as Tyrande called him, young Kael’thas in wc3.

So was Illidan who was Night elf.

lady Vashj is naga, ex Quel’dorei. A Highborne who would really enjoy torturing Tyrande and killing her if there was not for Elune’s shield.
Illidan was Betrayer which was retconned later. Kael’thas was no better, he sucked Fell like I would sip coffee for hours lol.
Should have gone cold turkey as i did with coffee :stuck_out_tongue:

Fandral was insane. Yep, he lost hell of a lot, well, everything, both wife and son. But he was tricked by Xavius who was showing himself as his dead son and persuaded him to corrupt Teldrassil.
Fandral served gis purpose. He was destened to be what he turned out to be and his story was concluded.

Yeah, it would make a… story, i suppose, but i doubt Blizz wants in-game for one faction to hold a whole continent and a portion of another while the other one has 2/3 of one continent, especially since the Cataclysm Horde push was at least in part because of Hordies whinging about not having enough zones.

Which is funny because they effectivly controll all Broken Isles now.

Problem is, I don’t trust Blizzard anymore so i would not be surprised if next expansion we see no Night Elf in Kalimdor anymore.

Yup, just taking Suramar back from Traitors of Elven race. After all it’s Tyrande’s, Malfurion’s, Maiev’s, Illidan’s, Jarod’s and many more (Lord Kur’thalos Ravencrest too) from devolved elves :stuck_out_tongue:

True it’s not a unique situation by any menas, but it is an excessively bad one.

compare this to the blood elves:

They gained both country, zone, Sunwell and city.

night elf - gained a tree back , Well of Eternity still not in use, still no city, no sign of gaining any zone or country back.

Blood elves got arcane and light infusion, a one up from the original Sunwell lost… where are the night elf benefits from losing the Well of Eternity and the Nordrassil blessings? Where is the one up?

When blood elves got everything back in TBC + more - because they showed them getting new equipment like the Animagus golems from MoP, new veins of magic like hte blood mages adn the enhanced Paladins -
They showed them extremely competent and victorious in every endeavour they did officially on behalf of Silvermoon and the horde - including humiliating the newly returned Darnassian highborne in Azshara, barely 2-3 weeks into training, then decimating the night elf post in Desolace, after their victories in Ghostlands against the night elf forces sent to spy.

So where are the power amplifications and new veins of magic for Night elves ? or returned ones from of old? We saw the Moonguard faction still alive, but never saw them fight for the night elves, we saw the night warrior - which can count as a new power, but so far, only Tyrande seems to have its powers, but no one else.

You see how vastly different even their so called resolution is? Where are the night elves fired up by Amirdrassil? where is the dedication to being the best in every way? I’d have expected the Highborne and ancients to pull out the best city ever, I’d have expected the Well of Eternity now used to amplify the night elves, and Amirdrassil the balancing factor so no one ever gets addicted. I would have expected immortality, and protections and an even deeper connection to Azeroth than the arcane blood of the Well of eternity.

Something that sees mages (well of eternity and moonwells), Priets (LEune Night warrior and light side), Druids (emerald dream and AMirdrassil) empowered, but also benefits to all night elves, like immortality, greater magical sensitivities, etc

And I’d have epxcted the illidari faction, founded by the night elves to be heavily involved in helping out, even if covertly. And off course Malfurion Stormrage…

This seems less than half the night elves true potential and power laid to bare, and a tree back, while a good thing is no where near enough compare to what is lost. It might be coming back, but it’s been 5 years since Teldrassil, and all the personnel and power factors are in place - just no implementation.

Druids are back, sentinels, wardens, Moon Priestsses, highbrone are back (and the cream of the crop), Moonguard too, and DHs too. Elune is still there, Well of Eternity still there and hte Moonwells from it, and finally new tree Amirdrassil tell me, why aren’t he night elves just awesome…

Let me guess, blizzard forgot half of what they have. Or only care a little, no where near as pumped for it as they would be if it were Forsaken or Blood elves getting revamped… see Midnight, an entire expansion based on the blood elf zone. remember Legion, the one they cut hte night leves down by 3 zones becuase it was too boring, so we had to have Highmountain, Stormheim be about other races, and Thal’dranath ditched in favour of Argus, Tyradnes storyline cut, because she was jus t irrelevant to them, they felt class order halls were more interesting, and couldn’t for a moment think oh, maybe twe can do both, and have the Sister of Elune go to each order hall and guide them in their ancient lands and especially through thier most sacred temple hmm.

Didn’t occur to them to have Tyrande more interestd in fighting for LEune in her city, she actually had a world quest asking people to put up posters of hte alliance… hte alilance… not the goddess in the Order’s ancient capital? Surely Vereesa should have run point for alliance matters and Tyrande be some sort of suramar ngihtmare to Elisande, busy sving people and satiating adidtions with the light of ELune and burning demons with starfall and starfires, absolute terror to the Legion in Suramar, furious at the occupation of her city - but no, it was more importnat to show the horde and Liadrin who has no cnnection to the city, and turn tryande into a whiny alliance bitc instead the High Priestesss charged agains her ost ancient enemy who has dominated her people’s lives for 10k years.

I mean, , they are so keen not to show the alliance faction get involved, they forget that Tyrande, Malfurion and Illidan have the biggest beef with the Legion, and the night elf faction have suffered the most because of it. - but it was more important to show Tauren and Vrykul and blue dragons, with only partial room for Highborne ghosts, wardens, moonguard, druids and sentinels…

Wanna bet Midnight will be ALL about the blood elves, blood elf this, blood elf that, they’ll be centre stage, have every involvement, not kicked to the side in favour of neutral factions implemented and forgotten immediately after… at least they have taken the blood elf sub-race over to the alliance already, like they took the night elf sub-race to the horde, but wanna bet they’ll create another one for the blood elves… and the night elves will ask, well aren’t we gonna get some sort of nature sub race, like worgen or Sylvar and wanna.

Because blizzard care so much about the Night elves…look they get a tree, never mind losing their3 cities, all their zones, all their power, and half their arsenal missing, with some of their best characters - Malfurion Stormrage, Prince Farondis (one of the best characters of Legion), Maiev and Jarod Shadowsong - missing, awol, awol or cameo, not a single Demon hunter or mage present - Mordant anyone?.. but they got a tree back.

At least they got something back, but still really? is this all there is to it? after Massacre, lost city, lost lands, lost or awol powers - you get a tree.

It’s pretty clear it’s going to be a storage shed. It’s where they’re gonna keep the night elves now they’re “done” with them until Elune comes to town where you’ll visit it a sum total of once to turn in a quest to Tyrande and then never see it again.

Looks like an ideal bonfire.

Like every other race that gets some attention, - but the night elf/blood elf approach is the best, where you have a little something for them every expansion.

Blood elves have got a little something every expansion, Every expansion since TBC their main one

TBC - was their expansion
WotLK - got the Sunreaver/Silver Covenant and argent Tournament + the ICC wing
Cata - BElves pwning NElves in Azshara and Desolace, Zul’Aman in Quel’thalas
MoP - Theramore, Thunder Isles/throne of thunder
WoD - Talador
Legion - 7.1 Battle for Suramar
BFA - Assaults in Nazmir, 8.2 Naz’jatar
Shadowlands - Revendreth [Kael’thas]
Dragon Flight - DS Expedition

In every one of these, Blood elves were shown as very strong, capable and powerful - not once did they look weak, even in defeat, it was after they had mana bombed Theramore.

Theyg ot back their lands, their city, their Sunwell, enhanced empowerments, kept all their old avenues of power and gained new ones.

But when Night elves ask for a strong treatment and showing, it is often horde and sometimes in particular blood elf fans (*not always) that are the first to scoff and tell them how delusional and crazy they are etc

I mean it can be argued Night Elves get something every expansion by that logic.

TBC - Cenarion Expedition
WotLK - The various world trees, Highborne ruins and encampments
Cata - All the old zone revamps + Hyjal
MoP - Karasang Questline
WoD - Warden Questline + Moonwell outside the Garrison
Legion - A solid 70% night elf expansion
BfA - Teldrassil, war campaign etc, etc
SL - Ardenweald
DF - The entire 10.2 plot + the older questline.

Now obviously a lot of that is bad. BfA especially. I genuinely think it’s better to be ignored by Blizzard’s “writers” than to suffer them any more. That said, I would’ve had Amirdrassil fail to take root and instead have the seed be used to begin revitalising Teldrassil. The Dragon Isles are an awful place to put Night Elves.

Midnight sounds genuinely horrifying to me and I already wish they’d never set eyes on Quel’thalas. But we’ll see I suppose. Danuser is supposedly gone.

I hope the unused portal in the druid pathways of the emerald dream will be for the new city. There are strangely Ardenwealdy looking shrooms in front of it…

Really no offense to fellow horde players, but I think lorewise, Night Elves would feel a bit uncomfortable with people from the faction that followed Sylvana’s orders and burned their home tree constantly around their new tree…

The celebrations with horde leaders invited was great but making it a cross faction city seems a bit bold given the happenings that lead to this point.

Also, Night Elves have been core alliance ever since. Their territorial feud with Orcs is legendary. You can’t make their new city x-faction while Orgrimmar is still die hard horde territory. Would just add further to the endless story of disrespect and humiliation of Kaldorei…

It would be downright offensive if Amirdrassil is going to be faction-neutral (We don’t know if it will be, but with how DF is going so far…), the reason the Night elves are scurrying over to the Dragon isles to hide behind the green dragons in the first place is to get away from the Horde!

Let the Horde NPCs and PCs do the celebration thing, a free flight out of there, and a fancy “…and don’t come back!”-note in the party goodie bag.

Haha. Yeah, I mean people like Hamuul, Baine or Thrall can come over to chat every once in a while. But the rest should feel VERY uncomfortable staying to long at that party and definitely stared at by numerous blue glowing eyes and wisps alike. You know what those wisps are capable of. They vaporized Archimonde, sooo… better leave that party early. :joy:

Not sure what they intend to do with Silvermoon during Midnight due to uniting the elven tribes, but Amirdrassil (still not really overwhelmed with the sound of that name…) should be nothing less then explicit night elf territory.

Well considering it’s taking place in the Blood Elf starter zone…only an idiot would think otherwise, to this…

That is why I said: That is what I fear the most

Awful name. Where is the crown in it? A dream’s hope. Nordrassil: Crown of Heaven. Teldrassil Crown of Earth. So Nor would be heaven, Tel would be earth but 'drassil is the same which means Crown. So what’s with the stupid name :stuck_out_tongue:

I just hope Silvermoon, Isle of Quel’Danas and every Belf zone will be destroyed. then I will layb back as a Night Elf playe, eat tons of popcorn and enjoy myself here on the forums :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah and then get Sylvanas to burn Amirdrassil, so Night Elf players have to relive through BFA, SL and DF again :joy:

Night Elf fans do a terrible job, probably they do the worst job, of selling the idea of having another race lose their home. Like, you people are so crap at selling that idea.

We are numb now :stuck_out_tongue:
5 years of constant disappointment and ridicule do that to a player. And since Amirdrassil is in wrong stupid zone. I will help light the match :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, It would be a poetic juistice for someone on horde loose their city. Might aswell be blood elves

You need to improve on selling the story of blood elves losing their homeland, akin to night elves and convince me that an Alliance race shouldn’t suffer the same fate again, to make up for the sin’dorei loss.

Alliance must suffer again and suffer really bad. So, I’d say Night Elves suffer again and Broken Isles is fully given to the Horde. Night Elves lose Val’Sharah and Blood Elves take over Azsuna.

:stuck_out_tongue: Like horde sold the story? They didn’t have to. You guys have nathanos self insert who did that for you. danuser which I am hearing is gone from blizz

As I said . I don’t care anymore :stuck_out_tongue: All I care is watching horde players outcry on forums how they are screwed up hahaha. Most of blood elves will be dead and I will be glad
