Any tips on tanking

i love blood dk but im bad at tanking

kiting is probably the strongest feature DKs have, with a “spamable” DnD slow u can reduce alot of white dmg (autoatacks)
death grip has 15sec as blood thats an interrupt for many non-interruptable spells

dont spam deathstrikes if ur full HP unless ur about to use marrow or HS and cap on RP

try to entwine DS after blood boil (hemostasis talent) to get the most out of each DS

dont panic if ur HP goes to 50%, u should have some safe mechanisms (blood worms, will of necropolis)

for talents i recomend, hardly will ever change except for raids, where u swap for blooddrinker and redthirst/purgatory

versatility is ur best friend, it double dips in power for blood, then some haste, crit also not bad as it will increase ur dmg in m+ but also gives parry

for azurites u will always look for last rings first before spec traits. in general haste procs and dmg procs is what u want, plus the heal when taking dmg trait, shields are also good (shield every 30sec, or shield when 4 enemies for m+).
as spec traits, u will want 1 for dancing rune weapon (extended time prevents alot of melee dmg), at least one bloody rune blade (u can stack this for the haste proc), also can have bones of dammed, everything else blood spec is pointless

I will gladly read too, my biggest problem as BDK is i’m spamming Death Strikes as soon as they are available, i never know how to manage rotation without using Death Strike.

essences and corruptions change alot after +18/+19 keys

up to +15 u can use Twilight devastation as big corruption (75 rank3) and then maybe versatility (i preferable stay below 20 corruption because i cba to deal with the eye)

after +18 strongly recomend 1 vitality (versatility proc rank3) and the rest +9/+12% versatility until u have corruption budget. if u dont want to aim this high and just want to do the +15 achieve then no need to invest so much, twilight will probably kill stuff faster than the dmg u will take :stuck_out_tongue:

m+ overall good essences:
minor:
-conflict and strife (best one, free versa)
-memory of lucid dreams (good heal + big versa on proc, the rune bonus is meh)
-aegis of the deep (m+ free versa)
-null dynamo (free magic shield +dmg)
-formless void minor paired with crucible (will give a permanent str and haste bonus if u fire crucible every 20sec) also 10 corruption resist (not stackable). can replace either nullshield or aegis depending of raid or m+

major:
-crucible of flame (extra dmg needed for blood)
-touch of everlasting minor (grievous weeks, also good paired with will of necro for extra bonus heal), and major for really high progress ie very high keys, also gives 10 corruption resist (not stackable)
-strenght of the warden major (aoe taunt and defense/dmg, good for skitish weeks)

honorable 2H weapons (if u can get them)
-getiku from kings rest (best one, dmg scales with versa)
-devastations hour from nzoth (haste/crit with garanteed twilight rank3)
-jeweled sharkspliter from freegold (haste versa)

the ONLY tank trinket u will ever want is from Nzoth one.
rest of trinkets can either be dmg offensive (from xanesh aoe trinket) or on-use versatility procs (pvp trinket and Tol dagor jefs howl trinket)
other trinkets from pvp can be also good like versa+ on-use str, or versa +str proc

another good one but more “hard” to get and use is from Sethralis poison spiting trinket, merekas fang (dont recommend for beginners)

Mechagon trinket with red dodge card is strong as well. Probably strongest defensive trinket for m+ right now.
