Any way to make the game more eye friendly?

Hello,

Like others of late, I started playing WoW with the controller. All the games I play now are with the controller because, after 8 - 12 hours of working with mouse and keyboard, it becomes tyresome for my wrists and my back.
All is good and the controller now feels naturally to play WoW with.

My issue that I cannot play on my TV, due to eye strain caused by WoW, even on monitor I can feel the eye strain.
I play other games without issues, like the ones I have playing WoW.

Any suggestions on what I can do to reduce eye strain?
Looking for:

  • game settings I can change
  • addons I can install (already installed consoleport and immersion)
  • TV settings I can change (LG 43UP76903LE)
  • graphics driver settings I can change (I have a Nvidia GTX 1650 card)

As note:

  • I tried bumping up the resolution and refresh rate. The thing is, if I want a refresh rate of 120, I need to set the resoultion to 1920x1080. If I increase the resolution, the maximum refresh rate is 60.
  • I reduced the brightness and increased contrast on the TV

Do you have the UI elements too small, so you’re having to strain to see them? That’s always been the cause of any eye strain I’ve suffered playing WoW.

Hi Tyssera, thanks for taking your time to help.

I tried playing with edit mode and UI scale to make elements bigger, but all I managed to make is clutter the UI so much that my character was barely visible and some elements where going outside the screen (like immersion talking options).

One element which bothers me, related to UI size, is the font size of the text on the quest tracker. Couldn’t find a way to resize the text and width of the tracker. Know any addon for it?
I have found Kaliel’s Tracker, but can’t resize the width, it seems…

It’s not something I’ve tried myself but this guide seems quite comprehensive, so I thought I’d drop it here in case it helps

Hi Punyelf, thanks for your input, it might help others.

My issue is not with editing the position of the UI elements , but with the eye strain caused by the UI/game.

Updated:
Installed Elvui and played with it for, an hour, to try and make an eye-friendly UI. Woke up today with a headache…
