So as I’ve been playing I’ve been trying to gear up and raise my ilvl. My current ilvl is 359 and has been so for a while. World quests and emissary cache rewards offer me 355 azerite gear which is not useful for me.
I did a warfront and got 370 ilvl legs - nice. Then I did some mythics, and in the weekly chest i got 370 ilvl legs - uff. Fear not I thought, theres pvp and conquest points, alas the conquest points rewarded me with 355 legs and the weekly pvp chest a 360 ring, which I also didn’t need. The world boss the last two weeks yielded no loot, even with bonus rolls and I’ve been unable to replace my ilvl 340 weapon for almost two months. But yesterday with renewed hope I opended the weekly mythic chest only to find, guess what, 370 legs, with even worse stats. No kidding!
It feels like I’m doing something wrong, but I also get the sense that RNG is just the name of the game now and I should just get used to it or don’t play this game right now, unless I wanna buy some gear off the AH. I still enjoy leveling my dark iron dwarf so I’m doing that, but at max level I hate feeling as though I can’t really target and work towards specific gear. I don’t really raid but I do mythics. I don’t know how many times I’ve killed bosses who has daggers in their loot table.
Anyone share this experience or have I just been unlucky OR am I just salty, knowing this experience is the same for everyone and I should just comitt more time and effort?
I also het crap out the weekly chest but i see it as a bonus loot. They did not have to give is the weekly chest. Regarding the world bosses, do they even drop loot? I did world bosses since week 1 and never hot a single item.
However u can target items, if u want a Nice weapon look in the loot tablets of mythic dungeons and farm that Dungeon till u got the weapon on the ilvl u want.

I have the Cloak curse. And it seems like alot of people struggle with getting gear progression becouse of useless duplicates. it sucks hard.
You could never do this in WoW, PvE side. Never, it has always been RNG.
I don’t get the recent increase in people demanding they get this or that because “omg rng is ruining my experience :(((((((” and don’t dare bring up Masterloot, and that garbage because it was BAD for PuGs, and BAD for guilds because of abuse of the system.
Genuinely, WoW has always been RNG. Even from Vanilla, 2-3 pieces for 40 players would drop.
There has been certain vendors to buy some gear, or the relinquished system in legion where you could have up shards to buy a random (but specific) piece
So far I didn’t get anything from my weekly M+ chest other than what drops from the dungeons I’ve done in the week before. Can’t talk for sure though, might be purely a coincidence for all I know.
Nah it don’t work like that. I got 385 pistoleers spaulders on my rogue (tol dagor drop). And did a +10 Siege last week. Was literally the only thing I did on my rogue last week, that 1 run.
