I am pretty sure the reason why it does not work anymore in certain countries is because those countries have laws that state that any user information has to be stored on servers inside the country. They are not allowed to store any user information on their own servers in the US. Wowhead is not rich and cannot afford to buy a server in each of those countries so they had to restrict access to those countries.

wowhead is a news-site and people like reading news about the game they enjoy. Wowhead has a comment function under each item / quest / whatever and people enjoy talking about those. “using wowhead = being bad” is probably the worst take I’ve ever read on these forums

I would argue using wowhead is people using their brains. I would say running around looking for something for 30 mins is a waste of time and being stupid, while if you go on wowhead you find everything pretty much instant.

That’s like saying people are dumb for using a dishwasher when you can just wash the dishes. Also claiming all info is in the game, that’s just false.

Even Blizzard employees direct you to wowhead these days, That’s how useful and needed it is.

As a person who got an iq above 100, I am a bit scared about what will happen if my countryleader decides to make everyone mad.

While I am powerless and completely innocent.

Will the world hate me for no reason? Yes.
Will I be banned from certain websites?
Yes.
Will I be poor and have no food?

If its possible I can always stream wowhead for people that cant access it xD

Which I did when I grinded Uldaman for it on my Jewelcrafter. It took 175 resets before it dropped from a trogg.

Taking part in external communities for information is part of the adventure now as Blizzard have been neglecting this part of the player experience.

For me, the adventure for obtaining Design: Citrine Healing of Golden Pendant began when I saw it drop the first time - on my Blacksmith adventuring Uldaman for boss drop transmogs. The natural first step is to obtain information from fellow adventurers (aka Wowhead), which pointed me in a reliable direction back down into Uldaman.

Doing adventures, whether I experience something new or unexpected, or the adventure goes as foretold, sharing my experience with fellow adventurers on Wowhead is helpful for others about to head out in the world with the same goal in mind.

All items should be listed in dungeon journal. And dungeon journal should have been in game since vanilla launch including notebooks etc. Its just bad and lazy design.

Not only that, all items should be listed in an in-game database with overview of their sources. Having recipes in the unlearned-tab with source: “world” isn’t very helpful given that these only drops in specific zones and instances, and sometimes even only from certain types of mobs.
