Anyone else struggling with Affliction DPS in PVE?

Damage seems so low and the amount of work so high!

Talent tree feels like rock or a hard place, take your pick.

Rotation on Method website (for AOE) is…

  1. Soul Tap
  2. Haunt
  3. Unstable Affliction
  4. Agony
  5. Corruption (without Xavian Teaching so you have to cast!)
  6. Siphon Life
  7. Phantom Singularity/Vile Tain
  8. Soul Rot
  9. Summon Darkglare
  10. Malefic Rapture
  11. Drain Soul
  12. Spam
  13. Proceed to normal rotation

…if I am to do this rotation on pulls by the time I get to casting corruption the adds are nearly dead!

So, I end up just seeding off the bat and then vile taint followed by haunt/UA then Seed/MR when possible - and even then I’m struggling to get the DPS going before everything is dead.

Maybe will be different on long/high HP trash so maybe M+ or higher. But in mythic and HC I feel its in a bad place. Maybe someone could point out where I’m going wrong?

Thoughts most welcome!

Thanks

I do need help my friend, that would be most welcome!

That’s great, feel free to add me

Are you talking about M+ or raids? In M+ you can start blasting after just a few casts. The ramp is nowhere near what it was in SL.

That rotation looks like single target.

Well, regarding the rotation (taken from Method) you’re supposed to just switch MR with Seed (for AOE) but everything else is the same.

double effort for lower gains, sounds just like aff lock for the past 5 years

You have to only cast about 4 spells before you start blasting in AOE. In single target, you have a lot more things to press as demo before you can start bursting and the timing is tighter. It’s not double effort.

So is the rotation order that I’ve stated fine then?

yes… looks like for demo the number of pressed keys is a measure of difficulty… BM kind of warlocks
