Anyone else who doesnt like the new human customization?

I wouldn’t worry about that lovey. Whatever they add or take away for Humans, they’ll give to Blood Elves (the better race.)

But also, your talking to one who plays a light blue mana addict. Concern about looks and customization left me, a long time ago.

Wait what? Humans are getting a model that isn’t a walking refridgerator with rolled carpets for arms?

Not just you. I’d pay whoever came up with the idea of placing blacks and asians in wow, to never touch any form of creative work ever again as long as they are alive.

But probably because of the asian market, someone thought this was a good idea.
Then again the joke is on me
Why am i even surprised
From the developers and creators who made the horde into the cucks of azeroth, who started a civil war 2 expansions ago just to turn into “we must fullo coz its 2020 and woman pwa”, its pretty much a logical step.

These people have no idea what game integrity is, no idea what game lore is, no idea what a story in general is.
As such its perfectly fine for them when jamal and lee show up in stormwind because as we all know, africa and asia are an integral part of the world map.

I will give them some credit once they manage to give worgens some frikin tails finally.

I want to know where these humans come from really. Mainly, because humanity in Warcraft has a pretty clear storyline: They’re essentially the descendants of giant nordic vikings. I think it was mentioned that the darker skin colors mainly come from Stranglethorn Vale (I think in Traveller), but where do the others come from? Like is there a Pandaren-human-island out there somewhere? (That sound’s weird.)

Possibly? New islands and continents just suddenly emerging and shifting what’s already on the world map around isn’t exactly a surprise at this point.

The human male skull looks so weird.

Why do humans IRL have diverse features? It has nothing to do with coming from China, or Africa, it’s to do with climate and evolutionary history.

Is it really so hard to fathom that if we’re using the human default as the template for humans in WoW (in that we assume that biologically they are like IRL Humans) that due to the fact that humans are literally EVERYWHERE in wow in a wide variety of climates that some of them evolved different physical features? Bear in mind evolution in WoW is massively sped up in comparison to our own timeline anyway where you have species separated by hundreds of years starting to look different from each other.

Also huge irony to the post complaining about lore and black individuals and Asian individuals (just because humans IRL that are black tend to have African ancestry it doesn’t mean that coming from Africa is a requirement to being black in a fantasy world ffs) when you’re petitioning for Worgen to have tails which has NO BASIS in lore, and Golden’s whoopsie moment was confirmed to be just that. Lore breaking is fine when it involves giving doggo tails, but start giving darker humans and there’s ground to riot huh (despite the fact the game has shown us dark-skinned humans exist, but has not shown us any worgen with tails)

Just another fantasy world where blacks and asians don’t exist?

i’m not a racist but…

In the real world different groups of humans with different features were separated for thousands of years to develop those features, otherwise they wouldn’t look distinct. I don’t see how Stormwind can have the palest and darkest humans living together unless there was some caste system that stopped them from marrying.

Maybe some of them hung out in Aszuna and Suramar?

Regarding your first point, as I already said, evolution is massively sped up in WoW due to the effects of the titan world soul. Yaungol -> Tauren occurred over a much shorter period than 10,000 years given Tauren were around during WoTA but they evolved from Yaungol prior to this. Although we don’t have an exact date on when the Yaungol “appeared”. But clearly evolution in WoW doesn’t follow earthern rules at all.

I’m not sure I understand the second point at all. WHy can’t they live together outside of a caste system? You can have pale humans, dark humans and humans between. ALl of this suggests they could marry who they want. With the SL patch we’ll probably see several SW NPCs change their skin tone as it can now be represented. The fact that a majority of SW guards NPCS are white shouldn’t be taken as a reference to the fact Stormwind operates on a principle of WHite dominance, rather the current human customisation simply doesn’t allow anything else to be represented very clearly at all.

I mean Kul Tirans have very dark skin colours and very pale and they mingle and that’s kosher. Why on earth would it be different in stormwind? Humans happy to accept alliances and friendships with dog men, space aliens and short rockfellas but god forbid they let their daughter marry a chap with dark skin? I don’t see it.

In the real world humans are mostly separated by distance, water and mountains. They can and do mix with each other. As you mention they can also be separated by political/cultural things, like caste systems, slavery etc, and in the real world such things have no doubt contributed to the separation of different ethnicities.

I’m not convinced that the difference between ethincities takes thousands of years to become distinct though. Imagine a village by sea invaded by a bunch of vikings, they kill all men and overnight the ethnicity of that village is changed.

In the real world the difference between one human and another is not that much, if you look into things like dna you might find that individuals in what might be classified as different ethnicities can be more closely related to each other than individuals that would be classified as the same ethnicity.

Personally I wont get too hung up on human variations with regards to ethnicity, I means it’s just the face isn’t it. For humans it would be good to have more variation in body shape, tall, short, thin, fat etc.

About as likely as it happening from a bunch of Dutch, English, Spanish or french explorers tbh. History isn’t just written by the victors, it’s also written by the literate group that seeks to demonize “the enemy”.

cant say that i know more than you, but my wild guess thin humans are coming in SL

Well that’s not too bad.

Female Blood Elves and Void Elves won’t feel left out now. :grinning:

im not racists but…

Yeah ok

I can’t wait until roleplayers get called racists, because someone decided to play a dark-skinned-human and is now working as a servant for a noble house.

Totally! There’s a whole new rainbow of fun to be had when shadowlands comes out. Though they can already do that stuff you mentioned on bfa. I just hope they dont limit the facial features and hair styles to specific skin tones, that would be so annoying.

Link plz, or where is it, exactly?
I would like to test them…
