Anyone excited for fresh classic servers?

I am very excited! This was one of my wishes for a long time, since Classic brings me back a lot of good memories and in 2019 I had the best gaming experience in my life by playing it. If I enjoy even half as I enjoyed then, will be really happy.

Also really interested to play TBC since due to real life I had to stop playing back then, and after I was able to come back it was pointless because I missed a lot of content, wasn’t worth from my perspective.

New fresh servers \o/
New fresh bots… =(

Yes and no. I have been wanting a fresh start that progresses for a while now, as I didn’t do it at the initial release. That there is only going to be 1 server each is worrying to me though - I think it will be far too overcrowded and I won’t be able to get anything done.

The thing is.

People still crowed to one server even if they make 2-3

So now they really have just 1 for each so people can’t choose “The wrong server”

I liked a lower populated server. There is a portion of us who aren’t bothered about dungeons and raids and so it didn’t really matter.

Play on Era? There are some very low populated servers like Zandalari Tribe. The whole point of fresh server is to level with lots of people, to be able to engage in group content.

Wow

I’m very excited TWW has been a snoozefest for me. Got curve second week of raid release on main.

I just log for reknown gains and twiddling my thumbs. I was going to try out cata classic for Firelands HC prog. But then they announced Fresh Classic and that’s just perfect for me.

But … if they made this season better I think classic fresh wouldn’t be so hype.

I’m rolling Horde this time as I lvled two chars in 2019 classic on Alliance. don’t really fancy doing Elwynn and Westfall again.

Can’t progress on era.
Probably give it a few weeks or even months now I have been thinking about it. I just don’t fancy fighting for every mob - unless the sharding is good.

no im not even 1 bit excited about classic

untill i can move items / transmog i earn in classic to retail i wont set my foot in there.
as simple as that

Yes, I will play Classic MOP. No, I don’t think that I’ll play Classic Classic this time around. While I’m happy that they’re finally doing progression servers, the game won’t be the same for me. I got my hit of nostalgia with the original Classic launch and SOD up until level 25.

I like the irony in you saying this while posting from a classic char.

No. Re-releasing old content for years is no good.
Retail: no new content since early shadowlands
Classic: same game
Era: same game
Sod: announced it would have extra content and ‘discovery’, ended as era + skills from random game version. Died in sod p2.
Hardcore: same game with extra problems to it. Why this even exist?

Other blizzard games seems in similar state. D4 got first (and seems last) expansion. No gamebraking bug fixes. Etc.
Full maintenance mode for old franchises. Makes me sad.

Also botting, hacking and rmt became legal in blizzard games

Is the glass always half full with you?
Re-releasing old content from both a player and a business perspective is a good idea.
From my own perspective: I like to have a day without being focussed on end game content and just slowly level through a zone with some mobs that can actually kill you. This part has been lost in retail for years, but retail also doesn’t even pretend to do this.
So for that itch I love the fact that there are classic servers. Especially fresh servers, where the excitement and experience is great going through all that.

I will also still play retail, I like to get KSH and curved every season and to get the given Renown of that season maxed out. Especially doing so with my friends, which break or make the game experience anyways in an MMO.

Hardcore is also a great feature, there is quite some people that enjoy this challenge, so I am happy that is there for them.

Now I will agree with you that the bugs are quite more than I am used to with Blizzard in retail since TWW, but it hasn’t hindered my gameplay more than maybe one/two times a week. I have still gotten the enjoyment, and remembering the vanilla days, where you could sometimes have half a day of unplayable lag, O well, it isn’t great, but I hope they put some extra focus on this.

I do give you the botting and RMT problem though, just farming in Isle of Dorn and seeing streams of bots and seeing the economy going to crash, it’s sad and demotivating sadly.

Overall, play the parts of the game you like to play. I think the facts these days we have such options to choose from is great and makes it that World of Warcraft is in the best state in years. It’s too easy to get caught up in frustration or internet drama ‘EVERYTHING BLIZZ MAKES IS BAD’ but with a healthy distance from the game and treadmill, the game is in a great state to enjoy.

No, i think its the worst idea they could have ever done, it just divides the player base even more and is a big FU to the era servers. Also many of us since TBC first released have been crying out for a TBC only server or Wotlk server to go with era servers so you can play in the timeline you enjoy. But no they had to push us all into Cata and now with an even more idiotic decision they release MoP classic, we just did Remix so majority of people have everything collected already. To me it feels like if Iphone released a phone in January then in March released the next Iphone…seems so pointless. Its all about the money to me and us players are getting divided into smaller and smaller pockets of the game.
