AWC starts on 04.04.
But I’ve noticed that last year’s AWC grand finals video has only 160k views on Youtube.
Why can’t Blizzard understand that arena is not interesting to watch? I guess 90% of viewers just don’t get what’s happening during the arena fights. And nobody’s gonna watch the game he/she does not understand.
I will tonight. I’ll have company on the weekend. I’m thinking of grabbing some snacks and watching some of it.
Yea, it’s not the best watch. I usually leave it on in the background. I also don’t like Enya, unfortunately. I think she’s just kind of there, repeats and agrees with what everyone else is saying.
I was hoping they would bring on Peekaboo to help host though, he’s an entertaining guy, and I think he’d be great for the lineup. Supa, Venruki, Ziko or Zuko, and Peeka.
No, idc about PvP.
But i hope the PvP Community is gonna enjoy it.
Well, cosidering they made new soloq additions since dragonflight replace arena and even share its rewards but didnt do anything to remedy any of its affects on arenas I dont really know whats the point of watching gameply for coordinated gameplay in arena which hardly none plays anymore in the game, even for those who would want it then becomes less worth to go progress in if nothing is done to the pvp system which still entirely rely on participation in each modes separately or on artificial inflation which blizz adds on mmr at some point during seasons on modes they think needs it.
Awc being arena and in game hardly anyone playing arena anymore since dragonflights soloqs, so…
Kinda would have to do something to give arenas more value to be played in game again so people who play pvp would also gain interest on proadcast like awc. If I dont get to play arena in game I dont watch other people playing arena either. I might watch some streamers playing shuffles though cause that affects me and is what ppl majorly shifted to play.
To answer the title:
No. Not now, not ever.
Not interested tbh, pvp balance is horrible, as usual.
Because it shows off the skills of players who have been playing for 15-20 years in some cases, which is a very long time for any one game, especially in a competitive space.
It always shows a lot of memes/vulnerabilities in classes, their burst being over-tuned, or the time protection paladin was destroying people, which was completely unexpected.
I don’t play Arena myself either, for the same reason I don’t do Mythic+, because of the toxic WoW community, I don’t even do solo Q much, because those guys are there as well.
However, I consider myself quite a good player, and I don’t think there’s anything that stresses and pressures the skills than PvP. It’s not just don’t stand in this, or avoid that attack, and there’s a DBM telling you when everything is going to happen. This is a real player that you have to fight against, with other players, that can come up with different tactics to win the game, that nobody ever thought of.
But I agree, PvP definitely needs some more love. All of the love mostly goes to the PvE aspects. They leave Epic BG’s in a garbage state, they do not nothing to enhance the experience and it shows. That’s reflected of course in the interest of PvP. It’s not balanced, fair, you have people queueing in premades, people of all skills, especially highly skilled players trashing on regular players.
where to watch awc, what is that? arena global world first? why dont, I would watch it maybe, idk
Well, I can see value in this and you made good points on your reply. I can agree on some
Not interested in watching people running around the pillars.
i guess they’ve just spent all their pvp love/budget on AVC prizes
Thanks mane.
Yeeeeeah no.
if i wanted watch idiots run around a pillar for 10 minutes id turn on my cats toy
Blizzard might have forgotten about my PvP Enjoyers, but i won’t.
Nope - 3v3 has been dead since Legion/BFA and been incredibly stale and stagnant since then too. You don’t even need to open up the stream to know that the same 30 or so people who played 10 years ago will be in the tournament yet again, playing some combination of either RMP, a melee cleave or a wizard cleave. The last time we had actual innovation of 3v3 comps and it was genuinely entertaining to watch was maybe Cata or MoP.
The game’s PvP playerbase voted to leave 3s behind in DF. Good and bad, new and old players all prefer shuffle and now blitz over 3s and 2s and RBGs. There is a rapidly dwindling number of boomers still left playing 3s and it accelerates with each patch and expansion and the AWC viewership reflects that.
The classes are so simplified now that watching top players play them just isn’t that entertaining. The simplicity of the classes also means that your favourite r1 AWC pro of your spec, doesn’t actually play your spec anymore - he plays every melee or every wizard or every healer or every one of the above and he does it within a 5% difference of someone with 10,000 extra hours on the spec.
AWC is sorta like tuning in to a CS2 match and the level is just a corridor and all 10 players are using the Deagle, AWP or AK. That may be entertaining for 5 minutes, but in this analogy, WoW has been in this mode AWC/3v3 wise since Legion, maybe before that.
Arena is the worst thing to happen to PvP.
So no.
The same as how RWF or MDI is to me but if people want to watch other people play videogames more power to them.
Because PvP never has been, and never will be, the main focus of WoW. PvP has always been a mini game and it should stay that way.
Yeah… Its really not just been a “mini game” thats such a stupid thing people keep parroting. PvP is one of the main reasons WoW got so big to begin with.
this is true, but Blizzard spends the money we payed to an absolutely useless thing
AWC is just pathetic compared to other ‘esports’
