Anyone got any guides about Roleplaying a Dark Iron Dwarf?

So now it’s easier to unlock the allied races, I got myself a Dark Iron Dwarf Paladin.
I thought of doing Paladin, because fire and holy zealousness go swell together.

Still, I’ve been looking around a few videos and wiki’s about the Dark Iron Dwarves, and although I got a lot of lore about them due to being an antagonist faction to the Bronzebeards for that long, there isn’t that much when it comes to their cultural lore.

I’ve read a few thing about how their culture has a mean social Darwinistic aspect of which everyone just backstabs each other, creating a people that are somewhat careful around each other. But I haven’t seen too much on like… what do they eat? What are their cultural believes? Who do I follow actually as a Paladin?

Love to hear something from the veterans.

Per the racial / heritage quests that we do have, charred meat(s) seems to be a favourite among the dark iron and their dogs.

Their cultural beliefs and such is a bit open, what we do know is that it’s a sorcerous clan, with an affinity for craftsmanship, masonry, and blacksmithing, who by in large culture was squashed/painted over by the hatred stoked by the Firelord as he enslaved them after their folly.

There does seem to be a new age of belief in the mountain, which appears to be based on a more shamanistic belief of the spirit? At least that’s what I divined from clicking the various NPCs around the Blackforge who claim to speak for the mountain.

As for what to believe as a Paladin, I suppose it really depends on which way you want to take them. - As you mentioned, you could take them to their zealous zenith and have them be some sort of Paladin of the Law, specifically the Ring of Law, adhering to strict oaths and rules of the Emperor and the dark iron nation, with your faith being fiery justice against those who’d usurp the dark iron rule?

You could also go the Doom Dragoon route (The only NPC afaik) that had any light abilities, who seem to be officers of the dark iron nation’s army, who use both guns, light to heal and shield themselves etc.

Or you could be a new-age (After joining the alliance) dark iron paladin, who’s adopted a more human-esque belief in the light after all humans seem to have some ties to the dark iron nation, what with their proximity, as well as the few mentioned characters getting bestowed weapons of renown for Reasons. - Not to mention being the landmark of where Anduin Lothar fell, one of the biggest human knights in human history, who was avenged by a Paladin that struck down Blackhand (If memory serves right).

That’s at least some ways I could think of taking it! x)

Thanks for the insightful information!

I’ve been kinda scrabbling with the character, and even though I won’t roleplay her yet (so I might change things later), I thought it would be a funny gimmick to make a character who’s kinda in a mix between the original Dark Iron worship of the Fire Lord / Mountain, and the original light worship. Making her somewhat (typically Dark Iron fashioned) culty towards the idea that fire creates light, and fire destroys any dark evil.

So unlike a typical human light follower, her believes and ideas are kinda strange and more chaotic, but she can seem to harness the light so something goes alright there?

Just imagine the local doom preaching hobo near the train station, but could cast actual spells and bless people.

ok so the first thing you need to do is hate elves

then you need a big book where you write the names and details of people and groups that have wronged you

then you find a bridge and blow it up

thats it
