APES didn’t level in raids. They leveled in groups of 5. They only made the raid farm in ZF, like everyone else, including Method. So if you want to ban APES, you need to ban 99% of the player base.
Then ban/roll back 99% of playerbase. Easy. Send a solid and strong messege. Do not hand hold because 99% of them did it. This is not an excuse.
I cannot care less who Apes or Method are, but if (note the IF) and when people exploit they should all punished same way, even … the 99%
99% my as$. they abused the bugs. I was watching their streams as they talk about how this was an exploit. They knew very well what they were doing.
Lol method did it too so please add them to the list haha
Live on stream i might wanna add
Piss off, dude . Majority of the players didn’t even know it was a bug, they only did it, because streamers were doing it.
You understand that NOBODY KNEW IF 10 man parties should reward xp or not right?
THEY DID THIS IN THE BETA TESTING ALSO AND BLIZZARD DIDN’T SAY ANYTHING.
So if after 3 months of beta testing blizzard didn’t investigate/fix this EVERYBODY saw it as working as intended and not as bug abusing.
There was no bug abuse since blizzard didn’t say if it was a bug or not until today. Now it’s fixed so no longer possible.
But 5 man griding is almost as fast and efficient and everybody is back to doing 5mans anyway. So rollback won’t change anything.
Not knowing law does not free you from punishment - or how it is in real life.
And I am sorry, but I feel absolutely no sympathy on botters, exploiters, cheaters and lowbie gankers.
Then what’s this? yeah, 6-7 man raid in dungeons to exploit the XP.

There is no law against it though.
90% of the player base don‘t yet have the level to even try this (99% of streamers are not equal to that percentage of the player base). But yes, theoretically everyone who did this should be rolled back and take a break (temp ban). But since nearly all streamers and top guilds did this, I don’t think Blizzard will take those measures.

This is a good point. If their characters stayed logged in all the time then there is no possible way of them not doing either: Account sharing, or botting, both of which are against the rules and bannable offences.
Useless e-drama on a 12 years old revived game.
As far as I am concerned - every streamer, world 1st etc and average joe casual etc are equal - and if they break rules, then they should treat with exact same measurement. no exceptions. I have played this game very long time - from its launch to 8.2 and I have never needed to break any rules. When I raided in world 30-200 range, or when I went full casual and didnt do any of that end-game stuff.
How come some of us can play without bending rules and then others bend rules and reap better rewards (be it more levels or whatever it is currently what people break rules for).
Same rules apply to all of us and should be enforced equally to all of us.
Then they could ban half the player base that is 40+ because i get a whisper every 2minutes if i want to heal some cath/armory 10man raid farm.
Question is only how it took them so long to fix something obvious when it even got streamed on multiple channels with thousands of viewer.
I mean a lot of thing were unknown back then but something like these even the tryhards in 2005 would have figured out )
And this video for anyone else who still thinks APES didn’t abuse the XP bug. Skip to the time: 09:34:48

7-8 people in ZF.
I take it you abused this bug and its why your being so defensive with this whole situation?
Anyway, Yes I understand that SOME people might not off known that it was unintentional… Then blizz should Just do what they have done in the past with this. Roll the characters back. For the sake of consitencey blizzard should ban/roll back those who abused this as they have done with similar situations like this in the past.
It doesn’t matter if they did or didn’t know. The characters should still be rolled back, for the sake of consitency and fairness.
I don’t see why people should be against Blizz rolling back / banning guilds doing this?
Remember when Raid Finder was released for Dragon Soul and the top guilds figured out exploits to fully gear their characters in like two days? Blizz wielded their ban hammer like Thor in Wakanda, smashing huge crowds of people left right and centre and stripping them of their gear.
He must have, he’s lvl 45 already.
Drop nuke and burn all. Make new fresh start without ADDONS.
There you go;)
